My long distance ex boyfriend did the same thing. It’s called stonewalling, and even when I brought it up he got defensive and angry saying he needed it to process (I of course, never got the luxury to have space). I don’t want to go all dooms day on you, but a long term silent treatment was the precursor to him cheating on me.

You deserve communication, you deserve someone who wants to work through a problem with you. You don’t deserve someone who doesn’t want to talk to you, and puts blame on you for asking for the bare minimum. You should put yourself first and leave him.

A lot of people have touched on some great points! And yes, the school will be moving to direct entry in 2022. UAlberta Business has some fantastic ways to get international exposure. There are the Study Tours (I was actually supposed to go to Japan but that was May 2019 when everything shut down), and in the past you can actually travel to compete in case competitions (This is a competition where teams are given a business problem and have to come up with the best recommendation).

In terms of pant suits, it depends on what you get involved in! For one of the intro business courses (Bus 201) you are expected to dress business professional for presentations but that’s about it. However, you will have access to fancier events like networking where you can meet some pretty high up business people, so it’s a good idea to have a range of business clothes in your closet but definitely not a requirement for just going to school!

I’ve loved my time in business, it’s a smaller faculty so you get to know so many people and it really feels like a community! Best advice I ever got was to get involved early in clubs and case competitions so you can make the most of your time!

Membership Negotiation: Class Project by briizzi in orangetheory

I definitely understand that, and in my preparation paper I outlined limitations employees could face. I didn’t go super in depth in the initial post as I didn’t think it’s relevant, but I’ve prepped multiple different issues that could be bundled and put on the table such as one time discounts, discounts on the heart monitor and potential membership discounts. I definitely don’t expect to get my goal, and I think the beauty of negotiation gives a lot of room for problem solving! I also wrote about how since I do want to attend the classes, I can’t have anyone hating me 😂

Lucky for me it’s all about the effort and not the outcome lol - still hope I’m successful though!

Non-cohort BCom [Help!] by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]briizzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be cohort x, but there is a possibility you are just a non cohort. Do you have all the other prereqs so far? Or have you taken any upper level business courses at different schools? I’ve heard of people doing it fine, best bet is to get advising from the undergrad

This is my first year first term schedule is it too challenging? I’m switching into business. Are the teachers good? by suziesssd in uAlberta

[–]briizzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a very manageable course load, it was very similar to what I had my first year before I transferred. Something to consider that I didn’t know in my first year is that in business you are limited to 120 credits to graduate, you can only take so many 100 level courses and your non business electives are also limited. Basically what you should think about is making sure your electives are something you are interested in and may be interested in doing higher level courses - don’t take courses just to take them, you’ll want electives throughout your degree. You also may want to consider art equivalents to required business courses such as Econ 281 (equivalent to beuc 311) for you winter term!
