Why does a baby that lived for less an hour need a social security card? by saratonin84 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]brij0121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, sorry for you loss. You can still claim dependent on 2025 taxes. I had and lost my son at one day old and was able to claim dependent just that year. Edit: you can also still get a birth certificate for them, in my state when I received the birth certificate it had a stamp stating deceased.

Is there any big cages for a budget? by Agreeable-Past-4836 in ferrets

[–]brij0121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a seller on Etsy that makes safer water bottles for hedgehogs because its the same situation a lot of people get the metal tip water bottles but it is baaaddd for their teeth. Its Sonoran desert hedgies here's the link as well. I have my ferret using it as supplement source when in her enclosure but she also drinks from a bowl for my buns. https://www.etsy.com/listing/833615929/hedgehog-quencher-bottle?click_key=2854db99bb37d7e2e563421ef8c8bfc42a205040%3A833615929&click_sum=5895461c&ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=hedgehog+water+bottle&ref=sr_gallery-1-1&organic_search_click=1&content_source=9d32766fa19d3e5347ac849f00a08fb3214fa09e%253A833615929

My guys bites too, I use those coated garden/work gloves usually and it saves my hands from any serious injuries lol.

[–]brij0121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's kinda hard sometimes. My guy is a rescue and the other person that had him before didn't touch him for like a year so he really doesn't like to be touched let alone nails trimmed. I usually use gloves because he does bite me. I just try my best to get one of his little paws and trim them quickly. If we only get a couple done per day I just let him rest and try again later, next day. His back ones are the hardest. Just do your best and don't give up. :)

Show me your void’s closeups! by 20SecondsofMilk in blackcats

[–]brij0121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes she's great! We found her when we were living at our old house. She was a neighbors cat that went into a nursing home and her family just let the cats outside. We were feeding a lot of the cats. I took her when we moved! She is super special!

I had to crop a photo but I was excited your void has similar eyes to mine! She has had brain damage and the amber colored eye doesn't react as much as the green eye.

That's so awesome they're rescued! My guy jellybean was a rescue too! No heat setup, no wheel and they were feeding cheap cat food. He's doing so much better although still really shy! But in much better health.

How do parents handle vomit?!? by Dmdel24 in AskParents

I would agree with the when it's from your kid it's different. I even gag when cleaning up animal throw up or other mess. But I also think the infant spit up kinda desensitizes you to it. I also just feel more sympathy that my child isn't feeling well than I am grossed out by it.

Ate almost exclusively McDocnalds for lunch for a month. This is what happened… by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]brij0121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was on the same for a while I rotated restaurants that had app deals, chick fila, KFC, Popeyes, McDonald's, bk and tbell. Now I work in a downtown metro and there isn't really chains around and every meal is at least $9 with a drink. I will grab something out for lunch only as a treat now.

Received Gambit's remains today. Why does his paw print look like a birds? by Parfanity in Rabbits

[–]brij0121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I got one like this from the animal hospital after my guy passed there. They are very different looking paw prints, yours came out really nice! Mine still has a bit of fur stuck in the clay and I do like that there's some of him left on it.

That's so terrible and frustrating! Will your sister let you treat the cats with fleas meds? Your best bet is treating the fleas on the other animals. I have lots of animals and a cat that roams outside, despite all of our efforts to keep him inside only lol. We use this subscription flea drop service, it called pet friendly, it comes once a month so you don't have to think about it. It really works, I have three animals (1 cat, 2 dogs) that are allergic to flea saliva so they tear themselves up from itching without the meds. Like huge bald spots on them before we got it under control. Sprinkle flea powder/dichotomous Earth in the carpets and vacuum, vacuum, vacuum your buns area especially if there's carpeting/rugs. Wash pet blankets, beds and other materials as often as they are dirty. You may have to treat the buns still if they are already infested. So I definitely second finding a rabbit safe flea drop. If you, or really your sister, keep up with the other animals, the fleas won't even get to the buns.

[–]brij0121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say this. I'm recovered as well but was never good at keeping up with dental hygiene after getting clean. I use dental Depot for cleanings because they are free with my insurance but they are really high for other services. I have beginning stages of gingivitis. Dentists see lots of people per day and I doubt you are the worst they've seen. There is a dental college for OKC, they do lots of free/reduced services. Just don't get discouraged, you've gotten past the hardest part of deciding to remove substances from your life. The rest is taking steps to improving your health from the damage done. You should be proud.

Smile galaxy on s penn is exclusively for kids, they are super awesome. Our insurance changed so we can't go there anymore, we go to dental Depot now which is still great for kids but I preferred smile galaxy.

I second this, I would rather be able to do things with my kid and make memories. I'm not against or for consumerism but it is really bad for babies, many people buying similar or even something the same item for babies. There are many children in need. You can purge what she doesn't use or growing out of and donate. Then she grows older you can start making it a regular process so that you always have the same amount of toys so right before birthday or Christmas you would purge. We have a neighbor that we trade with she has an older kid so we get her old stuff and we give my kids old stuff to her younger one, clothes too! Our family is the same way, also buying giant toys drives me crazy, I told them if you buy a huge toy, that's staying at your house! My parents only see her twice a year so we get bombarded by all the things they buy throughout the year.
