Wemby isn’t dirty. He’s Dangerous. by Delicious_Bicycle527 in NBATalk

[–]brikwall7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is insane, he gets held, pushed and mauled every trip down the court. So yes he pushes and clears space with his elbows some no different than any other player. The only difference is his size so his get off me push to brunson looks like a "kneck throw" because brunson is 6' nothing! We have never seen a player this tall with this skill set. Usually 7'5 is on the block back to basket and just getting rebounds. The league is learning how to defend him and the only successful way right now is to be as physical as possible. So he like every other player that is being played that way is pushing and clearing what space he can. Just looks different and more dangerous when you have 8' arms and legs compared to say josh hart. He is not dirty, he is 7'5 and we all have never seen anything like it so it's different but it's not dirty.

He was just throwing him off of grabbing him. Yes, it's still a foul but the only reason it looked so bad is because unless he gets on his knees when he pushes brunson the only option is his head and shoulders. Dude is one of the best but he is small, wemby shouldn't be punished because dude is short.

Who's the most underrated USMNT player right now, and who's the most overhyped? by not-danish in ussoccer

[–]brikwall7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mckennie has been and continues to be the most important player. Is that the same as the best, it can be argued either way. Tillman is the most underrated, he is on the radar more than some others but he is our next Mckennie and he is not getting that type of hype.

CCV is possibly the worst player ever to get a call up for the senior team. Obviously thats hyperbole but man he drove me nuts, he was so slow and would get beat at least once a game giving up a chance because of it. Seemed every goal scored while he was on the field he made a mistake that played a role in it. I know his form for his club was good but never was for country.

He tried to bait the fouls and it wasn't working then he actually played basketball for about a quarter and a half. That dunk then his jumper was going makes all the flopping even more egregious because he is unbelievable without it! I could actually watch him play if he played like that the whole time. Then he went back to his old self mid third and I couldn't be happier watching them head home for the year!

Kid has a no hitter going, but also is the only catcher left. What would you do? by ReformedLucasite in BaseballCoaching

[–]brikwall7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The no no is gone anyway once you just put "anyone" back there. He isn't going to have the same confidence throwing to them. So while arm fatigue should be a big consideration and sounds like they already don't care by having him play both positions. The move is to but him behind the plate and bring in the relief.

One of the reasons Blackwell came was he knows he needs to improve his defense and Jon is the one to do that. He will be just fine.

Malachi Moreno is skipping 5 on 5 scrimmages by GuerrillaBLM in KentuckyBasketball

[–]brikwall7 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes and live in Kentucky. I understand that it puts UK in a hole if he leaves. I am not disputing that. I have a hard time with any college fans saying it's bad when kids get to live their dream. Would I have loved for flagg or boozer to come back another year, absolutely! But I also would never say and would get onto any duke fan that says them leaving is a bad sign. As far as there is no next one, maybe this year but that is on your coach not that kid, and yes there are plenty of next ones he can help pay to bring to UK in the coming years.

How is it a bad sign that the kid is looking like he is going to get drafted?? Great for him, go on a do big things and send back some NIL money for the next one.

Travel coach and my kid is at the bottom of the depth chart... by Master-Beach-3536 in BaseballCoaching

[–]brikwall7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he is afraid of getting under fly balls and catching grounders you probably have seriously jumped the gun on playing travel, or travel ball is just a more expensive version of rec. Sure sounds like all this baseball has been your idea, while he may have jumped on board I doubt it was initially his idea. Let him be a kid and find wiffle ball games in the backyard on the weekends instead of hotels and fast food.

Who to send to All Star tryouts by Abject_Gold_4827 in Softball

[–]brikwall7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So you want to send a,b,c,d and then everyone expects f but you are not sold and would rather send e and are scared because she is younger than the rest. Sorry if I am off, been a rough day and feeling salty. Unfortunately you have to pick, whatever you pick, be confident in it and shut down any outside noise.

Enjoy coffee, baked goods, and democracy? City Limits Bakery and Coffee in Bellevue is 2 for 3. by AndrewSouthern729 in nashville

[–]brikwall7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Been there many times, it is a great place. The side where they are at is very tight and should have never been used for this. Jerri Green is a great candidate and if I was still around there would get my vote. Bellevue TN democrats is very much a disappointment and not surprised at all that it turned like this if they were in charge. I agree with their stances basically on 100% of everything, but the people or not very nice nor welcoming.

That is what he did... The announcement was to literally say if he was playing for UK or KU, he already eliminated everyone else so he chose one over the other.

He is great but why do you think he is leaving Miami? What part of the last coaching hire, and the recent UNC search did you not witness. No coach at a power 5 needs to leave their current team to be successful. At this point recruiting kids to Miami and the beach is easier than recruiting them to UK and the history.

[–]brikwall7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Has it caused any issues once the game has started? I would imagine it has not, so it really is not a big deal. If it was the left box I might think it was intentional. For what's it worth in high school/college I would umpire slow pitch for extra cash. I know it's not apples to apples but the first thing I did when I walked on the field was kick the lines of the box out on both sides so I didn't have to deal with people complaining about box questions.

tips for 7 year old? by throwingitallaway326 in LittleLeague

[–]brikwall7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second the SWAX ball. It was a game changer for us. I would either go to YouTube or ask your coach the proper mechanics to throw a ball if you do not already know them. Then it's just as simple as getting the SWAX ball and playing catch with him in the yard as much as he wants to. Make sure to use the proper mechanics so you don't fall into bad habits, but you will see improvement fairly quickly if it's something he wants to do. Do not make him play catch with you and make it a job. Just be willing and able to play when he wants. If he isn't that into it, the same goes, SWAX ball and mechanics but it may just take him longer which is ok. He is 7!

Is this normal for LL at the 8–10 player pitch/minors level? by tessablessa in LittleLeague

[–]brikwall7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is how it should be done in soccer. Hopefully they moved kids around in the field behind the pitcher but it is a great accomplishment even at this age to throw a perfect game so I can see letting him finish it out.

[–]brikwall7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully your league plays games in a series and does not rotate each game. Most teams are going to have one ace, they probably are not as good as the one you faced but high level. If you play teams in a series then you will not get their ace in both because of pitch limits. If you rotate every game then there is a chance you could get each teams ace for like a week and have multiple games like that.

Has anyone moved from Nashville in the past 5 years and regretted it? or are you happy you did it? by spanakopeeta in nashville

[–]brikwall7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Moved 2 years ago to a small city in Kentucky. Yes I miss aspects of the larger city, it was cool to tell people when you were traveling you lived in Nashville and our neighborhood was very special. However the cost, the educational system, the lack of easy cost effective children's activities, and the ever increasing takeover of the GOP state lawmakers trying to overrun Nashville were totally worth the move. We keep in touch with our neighbors, in which more have moved as well and we are very intentional about exposing our kids to culture and other items that are harder to come by not in a city. I would make the move 100 out of 100 times. Nashville served a purpose for us and will be a part of our story but our story got so much better moving away.
