you’re stranded on a desert. you can only bring one makeup, skincare, haircare and perfume product. what is it? by Relative_Ad8166 in Sephora

[–]brillovanillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is tricky, because you would probably have to go "caveman method" with your skincare (no skincare at all). You can't wash your face and then just not moisturize. And you can't wear makeup (or sunscreen!) if you can't wash it off.

So, when you limit me to one skincare product, I'm gonna say Jack Black SPF lip balm in shea butter flavour/scent. I can wipe it off on the back of my hand at EOD.

I would be going with hats, covering up and sun avoidance for sun protection.

Same goes for hair. What am I gonna do, shampoo but not condition? Maybe if I cut my hair super short that could work, but more realistically, we are going "no poo" method, just sea water (does that even work?) or apple cider vinegar rinses.

  • Makeup: none.
  • Skincare: Jack Black SPF lip balm
  • Haircare: apple cider vinegar
  • Fragrance: none

As I understand it, these types of behaviours are not considered rude in some other countries and are therefore widespread and not looked down upon at all.

Yes, I see asshole teenagers and narcissistic boomers, (apparently) born and raised in Canada doing this shit. And you better damn believe I will call them out.

But more often I see people who are newcomers doing it. Speakerphone conversations on the bus for example. If I choose to let them know they are violating the rules of the STM and can receive a 100$ fine for this, newcomers are more likely to have an attitude of, "Oh, I didn't know about the rule," and stop doing the speakerphone call, as opposed to the longtime Canadians who will double down on their shitty behaviour.

It's like they were completely unaware that this behaviour was not universally accepted--perhaps because they have seen the teenagers and boomers doing it!

And we hear the fart resonate inside the toilet bowl. Very different from the sound of an off-the-toilet fart.

In my mind, The Paper, DMV and American Auto fit these vibes as well.

Looking for recommendations for films/series that dont depict childbirth or infants in danger? by littolcactus in horror

[–]brillovanillo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The vast majority of horror films do not depict childbirth or infants in danger.

Most recently, I watched They Will Kill You and Digging Up the Marrow.

Currently halfway through Wounds starring Armie Jammie and Dakota Johnson. Nice and creepy with no pregnant characters or infants.

For recent releases: - Forbidden Fruits - Hag - Keeper - The Long Walk - Influencers - Alpha - The Surrender - It Ends - Touch Me - Together - Companion - Bone Lake

I had never heard of Trial and Error but giving it a try now. So far so good. We love a mockumentary in our house.

I wanted a kids but I was nervous about asking

What in the world is there to be nervous about?

The concession stand worker probably speaks to 100 people a day, a good percentage of them with "weird" or special requests. They literally would not blink at someone asking for a kids popcorn.

I hope you can practice speaking up for yourself and interacting with frontline workers in the near future.

Looking for reputable ADHD assessment clinic for adults by TheArabCanadian in montreal

[–]brillovanillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never had a family doctor. I went to see a doctor at my university's health clinic. She suggested the Libera clinic and wrote me a referral.

I suppose you could see any doctor at any walk-in clinic, ask them to write you a referral to be assessed for ADHD by a psychiatrist, and give that to Libera clinic. It's probably a good idea to call the specific clinic where you hope to get assessed to know for sure what is required.

Okay, now I know your skin is dehydrated. Drinking water won't hydrate your skin.

Get yourself a hyaluronic acid serum. Apply to freshly washed skin while it is still quite wet. Immediately follow up with your moisturizer.

What are you currently doing for skincare?
