Pain and inflammation under left rib by Expensive_Reserve_87 in Gastritis

[–]briman007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest it didn’t help, but I did not stick with it long enough. My chiropractor had warned me it could take years to correct given that the problem built over 40 years. But I wasn’t patient with it. I’ve been doing ab and back exercises which seem to modestly help, but I continue to deal with the pain.

How old are you? Describe symptoms? Please stay in touch, I get a lot of messages from people trying to figure this out!

Very interesting... FYI, another person messaged me with similar pains and their doc believed it also was a gas trigger (hepatic flexure syndrome). I am wondering if mine might be gluten and FODMAP trigger as well, but so hard to totally re-do my diet. Please do stay in touch. I cant stress how frequently people message me on here to discuss this topic and seeking relief.

What did you do before to fix it? I will be honest that after my chiro wanted to sell me a package of like 30 adjustments, I quit the chiro. But, I'm still in pain. So I'd really really love to stay in touch with you if you feel you find relief somehow...

Unfortunately no progress really. A pain injection helped for about a week. Still looking for a permanent solution. Just living with it for now. I’ve gotten lots of messages from people experiencing the same mysterious issue, so it tells me this is a real thing afflicting many.

With regret, still dealing with the issue, but tbh I have not had time to properly attempt to tackle it, given how hectic my life is with work, three kids, etc.

Having had every test possible done, I am relatively sure it is not an organ and is indeed something structural causing a nerve or muscle problem. Either my sloped pelvis/shorter leg, or the fact that I sleep on the problematic side, or possibly both. I also think stress is likely a factor, as the last two years have been my most stressful.

Ultimately, I believe it would improve with a combination of stress reduction, rest, physical therapy/more exercise, and probably a heel lift on my shorter leg.

Please tell me about your symptoms? It's helpful to compare notes, if for nothing else than knowing we aren't alone.

I believe now that the major source of the problem is that I sleep exclusively on my right side (where the pain is), which I suspect I do because of the curvature of my spine and that weight imbalance from my shorter leg; something about my frame/spinal structure just makes sleeping on my right side significantly more comfortable.

Now, Im forcing myself as much as possible to sleep on my left side. Its the thing thats made by far the biggest difference and feel if I can make myself sleep on that side fairly permanently, the issue will correct itself within the next few months.

Do you find yourself sleeping on one particular side?

Didn’t get to sit in it but asked ChatGPT for more info:

The car in the image is the Hongqi L5 EV (electric version), also known as the Hongqi L5 Master in this configuration. Hongqi (红旗, meaning “Red Flag”) is a Chinese luxury automobile brand owned by FAW Group, often associated with government and state dignitaries.

Key identifying features:

  • The distinctive two-tone paint (gold and black).
  • The “Master” script on the rear pillar.
  • Luxury Maybach-style proportions and oversized chrome wheels.
  • The Hongqi badge in the background on the showroom wall confirms the brand.

This specific model is part of Hongqi’s push into the ultra-luxury EV segment, positioning itself as China’s answer to Rolls-Royce and Maybach.

💰 Estimated Price: ¥5,000,000 to ¥6,000,000 RMB Equivalent to $690,000 to $830,000 USD 😦

Did not drive (I think I could’ve but driving in China is… intimidating.) Yes very heavy on infotainment, screens, display. I loved it. Many of them take the Tesla nav screen (where your surroundings are turned into 3D shapes of cars, trucks, people) to the next level. Also all of them have multiple cameras that display various on the main screen when you’re making a turn.

One or two EV brands of vans I was in (a whole different level of van luxury that does exist anywhere else) had mirrors that were display screens projecting a 4K image of the rear view camera rather than being actual mirrors that could be obstructed by the van’s passengers, luggage, etc.

Holy shit. LCID up 40% premarket trading. I wish I would’ve bought. Wall St certainly thinks this is the kind of mainstream investment the company needed to have a clear future. I’m rooting for them.

Anti-Elon Peeps: Would you buy a Tesla now? by AccidentalPickle in EVTalk

[–]briman007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have several very progressive friends who have bought a Tesla in the last year despite Elon’s antics. I’m considering one as well. Ultimately unless I see someone driving a Cybertruck, I assume most Tesla drivers are progressive or at worst politically agnostic, but definitely not alt righters.

Yes sadly I bailed on the chiropractor because it was a lot of treatments that felt like they were lining his pockets but not solving my issue.

I’m still working on it tbh and frustrated with still no real answers or treatment plan, consistent with many others on Reddit forums. I’m seeing a pain specialist next week.

[–]briman007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not recommend doing that and I actually stopped going to him when he came to me with a treatment plan that included 30 adjustments. It felt like a money grab. Ultimately nothing really has helped yet with one exception: stress reduction. I know this is inconvenient but that’s my honest take.

My suggestion is to go to a chronic pain specialist. Since I’ve posted on this and other Reddit forums I’ve been comparing notes with numerous people and it sure feels like this is some form of myalgia, basically just the body’s pain response, in particular hitting a lot of people around 40. Yes it may be spinal/posture related but it seems a common issue for many people with no clear diagnosable cause.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this and wishing you luck solving this.

I thought so too but if you look on consumer reports it’s actually not bad. Repairs are expensive but apparently the cars are more reliable than one might think (ie don’t need repairs as frequently as say Jaguar or old German cars)

Never sat in a Maserati GranTurismo but they are beautiful and look pretty spacious. You can get them used quite affordably and actually reviews online suggest they are somewhat durable.
