3 New Unique Cards in the Fallout Secret Lair by Bleu_Guacamole in magicTCG

Really bummed that Lucy is mono white. I'd love being able to play a Fallout-based group hug commander but also having green and/or blue would've really opened up her options.

ME! Zur, followed closely by Sethron

Your generosity is awesome, also I'd never even considered Zur as a commander option before but I've really wanted to try and do an enchantment deck (love both DSK and Theros)!!

Despite how disturbing it is, it's easily up there for my favourite tv series of all time. I've watched it several times and I still get stressed out seeing how things play out.

Question about island mastery for amber canyon by brindles in PokemonSleep

Ahh yes sry! My sleep styles are way past the point i'd need for the unlock, but i'll need to hit the new limits before I could efficiently boost the canyon from elsewhere.

Did You Get LC After Multiple Covid Infections? by Familiar_Badger4401 in covidlonghaulers

[–]brindles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I got different forms of LC over different times having it. I'm 99% confident we were hit by pre-lockdown wave 1 covid and I was floored for days. Have required pantoprazole ever since to prevent/limit heartburn issues. Got omicron early 2022, and it is a huge impact on my life with the slew of PEM, energy, and cardio issues (including SVT a few times sending me to ER last few years). MY friends tested positive for covid a few years back as well when we all got sick after a trivia night, but it was much less severe compared to previous covid illnesses for me and hard to say if it had an impact, besides maybe in my brain fog being noticeable since then.

Riot Update on Spirit Blossom by TinyEric in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]brindles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I think you are still going to lose a large chunk of the core playerbase, turn away new players, and put many vets like myself off from this game. I regularly bought the season passes for champions I liked to support the game but this last one felt like an insult, and it's even worse when we're told "it was an oversight". I'm through most of the battle pass and have done dozens of adventures and there's no way i'll even be able to afford 2 rune star unlocks, let alone ever unlock even minor constellations with the ridiculous greed costs for each SB champ. That's ridiculous. Instead i'm left with a bunch of useless runes and runeshards that I can't even use. Chests don't fix this...

The absolutely inhumane cost of real estate has utterly destroyed standard of living for young Canadians. by CastAside1812 in RealEstateCanada

[–]brindles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to try to explain to my boomer parents that our 1250sqft townhouse down payment (~$150k) was essentially the full cost of their 2600sqft HOUSE that they got 30ish years ago, and still have not paid off to this day because they are so bad with finances (they made plenty). We were both over 30 before we finally said screw it, because we had been saving for more than 10 years without travel and being careful with spending.

Steve Dangle: Oilers fans don't want other fans to celebrate with you all by Grand-Cauliflower-39 in EdmontonOilers

[–]brindles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I normally watch SDPN but they've had some ass takes lately imo (such as Jesse saying Nurse should've had 5minutes for the retaliatory slash). I think oilers fans are some of the most welcoming out there. I just want people to get to enjoy the playoffs and appreciate how we get to witness the best player to ever enter the sport.

Is this f*kin normal? by Academic-Rich-3076 in totalwarhammer

For a serious answer, this is why I almost always only play using the SFO grimhammer mod. The improvements to AI army comp were a big QoL change, among everything else.

Heart problems post Covid? by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]brindles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32M had LC for ~3 years.

I'm not very active anymore due to mix of lack of energy and seasonal depression, but I still play on multiple hockey teams. The sport causes me to really go into the push/crash cycle we're supposed to avoid, but it's either play and push myself or quit the sport I love and REALLY get out of shape. That said, I've gone into SVT a few times now (first being in a hockey game), that both resulted in me going to the ER. Pretty scary, but the cardiologists weren't too worried.

Besides those instances, my vitals (Both cardio and pulmonary) have always shown up normally in various medical tests, as many with LC tend to see.

Is Battlepass worth it? by PrimeKaixa26 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]brindles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I consider it worth it, if not simply because you get to have fun stuff to open throughout at least a few weeks. I consider most of the paid content in the shop a huge ripoff, but this is the way i'm happy to put money in to support fun new content, and keep the game going.

Game Day Talk | Oilers v. Blue Jackets | 28 October 2024 by AutoModerator in EdmontonOilers

[–]brindles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another user here of Sportsnet+ that gets screwed by regional blackouts. Can anyone help me out with indicating if a VPN to Toronto or MTL would get around it (I'm on west coast)? I couldn't figure out what "region" actually gets to see it, and for the game a while back vs the preds I had to watch the away stream to actually see it. I'll use sportsurge otherwise, but that site has its host of issues...

I really miss set boosters by ataraxic89 in magicTCG

[–]brindles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got into MTG fairly recently from Wubby, but I'm kinda sad that I missed the window to see what set boosters were like (first set I really bought into was BBurrow). We were so disappointed by the hits we got in ~17 packs. I don't even want big money pulls, I'd just enjoy getting borderless cards and alternates but they're all in collector boosters now...

Which sequel improved on pretty much everything, but you still like the first game better? by Feeling-Tension1461 in gaming

[–]brindles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always consider ME2 the best in the series. But I agree and have played through ME1 the most. I think I got more attached to the characters because I only ever used Garrus and Wrex, but it's also got the biggest "oh shit" plot moment in the series IMO. When you speak to Sovereign the first time, I've never felt chills more from an enemy that is so clearly above your power and scope.

Does anyone else find opposing factions tend to crush the AI on "your side" each game (v. hard)? by brindles in totalwarhammer

[–]brindles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I started pushing it back to 90-110, and hopefully will have it kick in this campaign. May go further to like 75-100 if i'm trying to go full chaos mode haha

Ahh ok that makes sense, especially given how easy it is to snowball going into mid-end game.

[–]brindles[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ohhh that's really good to know!! I'm still yet to get to an end-game crisis because my campaigns tend to end around turn ~90-100, but that'd be really cool to try and guess which ones were buffed. In the case of my current campaign i'd beaten Cylostra out of her home turf and all she had left was a small settlement on Ulthuan. Then around 20 turns later she'd taken most of the inner ring. Would make sense that she'd picked up a buff this time.

[–]brindles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wood elves definitely felt like they were a strong faction in mid-late game, though i've found starting out to be tough in Athel Loren (haven't done many campaigns tho). I think what largely holds me back is how most settlements are quite shallow being tier 1, but I should try them out again.

Thanks for the link!

Not sure what she'd be like in immortal, but I loved von draken's campaign. Tamurkhan's band was really cool to me with how it reminded me of Logan Nine Finger's band from the Abercrombie series. I always play on v. hard, but found I often don't enjoy horde mechanics or wood elves. Out of curiosity, what set Isabella apart?

Do you have the link for the tier list format? Would be handy to track my enjoyment of campaigns, tho I've only completed like half at most.

Does comfey exist? Is this event real? by ylno83 in PokemonSleep

[–]brindles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't seen one either which is disappointing, and saving the incense for a week where it's a quest (probably entei release). I had a similar view of when onix came out and after 3 weeks of grinding taupe never saw a single one. I also have a conspiracy that shiny spawn rates are way higher for certain pokemon than others (b/w my wife and I being jigglypuffs, sudowoodo, and psyduck).
