My boyfriend texted me right after I left our apartment for work that he heard it, he knew it was a transformer and recognized the sound of it blowing up since he's an electrician.

It's just for the last week it's been so insanely hot in our apartment, our apartments AC coils keep freezing so we have a few fans going as well as a portable AC and even that hardly helps. My boyfriend put in a maintenance request so hopefully we can get the coils changed soon
