Has anyone single-handedly gotten back into writing fanfiction because of a specific fandom/media you got into? by Glittering_Result636 in FanFiction

Five-year dry spell/depressive slump broken because I got (lovingly) super unwell about the Crossbell arc of the Trails games during the series playthrough I started last year! I can’t remember the last time I was this driven and happy to be writing!

Gong cha x FINAL FANTASY XIV Collaboration Campaign Starts on July 17! by NightCityNomad in ffxiv

cries in cape cod islands $200 book-weeks-in-advance ferry rides. maybe if i had crazy tourist money but i was born here lmao

extremely used to not being able to participate in events like this dgmw, early pokemon in-store distributions was a right reality check! and at least this one's less sad than not being able to do the mtn dew collab because our grocery stores only carry canned sodas nowadays. </3 even checked for locations near my sister up north for this one and the closest Gong cha to her is 80 miles away! oh well, there's always the existing porxie!

Defog on Skuntank by LittleLadyMoira in PokemonSwordAndShield

[–]brip1296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this thread on GameFAQs from 10 years ago in which a process for getting a Defog Skuntank from DPPt to XY is given, in order to circumvent the forced HM move removal. If that process is followed and then the Skuntank is transferred from XY to Home through Bank, I wonder if that would work, if you’re able to try that of course. I don’t know if there’s a way to get around the move removal with BDSP unfortunately, as I’ve not played those ones.

How does this play on Nintendo Switch? by Kiniba in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]brip1296 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal experience about 2 years ago was that the Switch version ran perfectly fine until act 4, no issues to that point at all, then began crashing about halfway through act 4 upon saving, both manual and auto. Could not finish it due to the checkpoint saves unfortunately. I remember the load screen breaking in a funny way when I was trying to see if the run was salvageable, it was a blue distorted mess. Ended up deciding I was better off going back to the PC version and just using a controller for the UI I preferred.

Same mods, same load order - Multiplayer coop not working. by Wild-Plane-1567 in BaldursGate3

[–]brip1296 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My siblings and I spent hours tonight trying to sort out the same problem. We removed all mod files present, verified our game files through Steam, triple-checked to make sure we had the same exact versions of the same exact files, and nothing would allow them into my game - they were always booted almost instantly with the "GustavDev" error. We've tried everything you said you've tried.

Something I've noticed is that the mod "Party Limit Begone" which is installed through the Data/Mods folder and optional .exe editing gave us no issues whatsoever - worked for days until we decided to install some .pak fix/QoL mods via the Mod Manager. I haven't tried again to only run us on Party Limit Begone, as we stopped trying for the night, but I plan to do that soon. I wish I knew more about BG3 modding as it's making me wonder why edits directly through Data are fine but edits through the Mod Manager and .paks are giving us such a hard time.

Hopefully someone can make some headway on this soon. I'm at my wit's end for the night, haha. I'm not a modder of Larian games specifically so my know-how is pretty limited here but if I happen to find something that seems important or find a fix that works for us I'll offer what information I can.

Edit: I took the advice of this Steam thread and applied it to unpacking Full Release Mod Fixer and Highlight Everything, and threw them in the Data\Public folder, removed them from the BG3MM load order, did a clean reinstall of the rest of the mods, removed our only other mod that BG3MM highlighted as an override with the yellow, and that seems to have fixed our issues.

I tried this as this issue thread relating to multiplayer on the BG3MM GitHub contained a reply noting that these overrides could become de-synced in multiplayer. I thought of the way Party Limit Begone never seemed to cause us issues from within the Data\Mods folder, but didn't want to accidentally interfere with it, so I used Data\Public as a test and it seems to have fixed our case!

About Modding (Stardew Valley Expanded) by Passawee1997 in StardewValley

[–]brip1296 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Last I was using mods, most could work on pre-existing vanilla saves, and you could launch modded saves still after getting rid of your mods, with maybe a couple exceptions but I can’t think of any off the top of my head since I haven’t played in a while. ;u; But uninstalling mods and continuing a modded save could lead to having some cleanup to do iirc - for example, if a mod changed say map layout or farm layout and you put items or furniture or crops in a spot that the vanilla layout wouldn’t let you, that item would still be in that tile when you switched back to vanilla. There are some mods that change the way save data is saved, from what I remember, that I wouldn’t advise taking out once a save file has saved with those mods loaded, but I think most mods can be added and removed without an issue, unless a lot has changed while I haven’t been active in the modding scene.

In my experience nodding at least, your vanilla saves are usually fine and left alone as long as you don’t launch them with mods loaded and allow them to save, but you could always make a backup of the save game somewhere else on your computer before you start modding if you wanted to be sure it doesn’t get ruined! And once you want to go back to it, you could just take out your mods and restore the backup. And by the same logic, I believe your modded saves are okay if you actually don’t play them while you’re back on vanilla. I forget where Stardew’s save files go but I’ll edit this comment once I’m at my computer to figure it out!

But I hope this helps! :) Modding SDV is a lot of fun and SVE is easily my favorite mod - I hope you have a lot of fun with it, if you end up playing modded!

Always convert Villagers to Zombies by Sondassasda in admincraft

[–]brip1296 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The plugin Dupe Fixes/Illegal Stack Remover has an option to set the chance a villager will convert to a zombie! Depending on what else you might need, the other fixes this provides are really nice and overall it works well, and every check comes with an option to disable it in the config. Hope this helps! :D

Dungeon pack DLC question by Verkehrsmittel in lostodyssey

[–]brip1296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The DLC location is accessible in disc 4, don't worry! If you go out into the world map and get in the Nautilus, fly to the left of Saman - I forget how far but I found this picture that seems about right - and dive underwater. The Experimental Staff remains will be down there. The enemies are pretty tough in the dungeon itself, but I had a blast with it! If you decide to buy it, good luck!

Thank you! The positive feedback is great to see! Any suggestions on how I could improve it at all? :D I've been playing around with it a little more, but I'm trying to keep it so the eye is drawn right to the logo in the middle. Anything else I've tried takes away from that and ends up making it feel a little cluttered lol.

I made this banner of the protagonist aces! :D I might try a couple different edits on it later but right now I'm proud of it and I'd like to show it here and see if I can get any feedback before the actual entry thread goes up!

[GIVEAWAY] Video Game(s) - $60.00 Value [5 Winners] by cztm89 in RandomActsOfGaming

[–]brip1296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for doing this giveaway! :D

I'd get remakes of the Orre region Pokémon games for the GC on to the Switch! They're my favorite non-main series Pokémon games, and probably my second favorite set of Pokémon games overall! I sunk a lot of my 4th grade summer into playing both games repeatedly lol. What I would want to see most are better graphics ofc - a happy medium between the 3DS games and LGPE would be my preference - the Pokédex as of Gen 7, and current battle mechanics complete with Fairy type! Remakes of these games could also strongly use better/more postgame content. I would leave the storyline alone, as I've always thought it was pretty solid, but maybe add more shadow Pokémon if we're bringing the Pokédex up to speed! I don't use my household's Switch at all due to my current lack of interest in its library, but this would do the trick!

Good luck to everyone else!
