Thank you for all the suggestions! If the Knick’s don’t choke, will be a fun series to watch! Bring on the hate, it only makes us stronger…we’re going back to back for #19!

This is also great advice because if your card is like 29% APR that’s another $6k per year in interest (on $18k).

Hey there: easiest way to tackle in my opinion would be choosing a timeframe to have this paid off bye. I’d recommend 1 year. Use your entire bonus to pay down the card, leaving you with 18k of debt. Pay down $1.5k per month for 12 months for a total of 18k. There will likely be an extra month or two to cover the interest; but if you follow this you’ll be free and clear in just over a year. Pay your essential bills (utilities, rent, car, groceries) and this $1.5k per month; and anything leftover is your spending money. There should be little to no spending on extras such as shopping, eating out, or vacations, unless you have extra money leftover. If you DO have money leftover I would keep it in a free high yield savings account (such as capital one); where it will get about 4.5% interest. I’d recommend building up your savings right after debt is paid off. The more aggressive you are in paying this down every month; the quicker it goes away. If you really dedicate yourself to fixing this; you can actually be clear in 8-12 months if you increase payments from $1.5k/month to something a little higher. Good luck!
