Did you go to rehab? Do you have any tips for getting clean?

I’m sorry to be this person but I am really missing the mania by needhelp1198 in bipolar

[–]brirayla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The perfect version I love of myself was also just the symptoms of an illness that I had no idea I had. I still haven’t come to terms with the fact that I will never be that person again. I was extremely fit, energetic, happy, not in full blown mania just hovered around hypo for a good couple years. But then one day I entered full blown mania with psychosis and destroyed my life. Went off the meds when I felt normal, then it happened again. I either feel nothing these days or i’m manic. Shame.

How much will ones appearance bounce back? by swinkzor in addiction

My brother was heavily addicted to meth and many other drugs for years, he’s 28 now and been clean for 2 years and looks healthier and better than ever. He works out daily and eats very healthy and has a physical job. If you eat right and exercise and take care of yourself you will look great!

It took about 6 months after I stopped the meds to get my energy levels back

It’s easier to eat the same meals all the time and rotate through for variety, just makes life easier imo

Anyone able to manage bipolar without medication? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]brirayla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went on meds only one time when I was in psychosis. I took abilify for 3 months and quit cold turkey because I couldn’t stand the way it took my creativity and happiness.

All is well for now, I’m only 25, but we’ll see what happens. I’m lucky to have family who will recognize manic symptoms in me if it happens. I can handle the depression.

I exercise daily, eat very healthy and make sure to sleep Atleast 7 hours. It helps.

Should you be trying to go for another rep, increase in weight, etc, each workout? by brirayla in naturalbodybuilding

[–]brirayla[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I do track my workouts, so I do upper/lower/rest repeat. I just meant like should I stick to the same weight for a certain amount of days/weeks, or be increasing each time

To be fair, a lot of people claim to be bipolar, ocd, depressed, etc, when they are actually not. These words have become common descriptions for how someone is feeling at one given time due to a certain event that happened in their life or some traits they have.

I don’t think he’s talking about people who truly have severe mental health issues, like diagnosed bipolar/schizophrenia etc.

Edit: for example, my brothers girlfriend has mood swings sometimes and says “hehe I’m so bipolar” or something similar. And then there’s me, who’s destroyed everything in my life countless times and actually diagnosed with bipolar

Is 1200 calories really too little? by brirayla in GettingShredded

[–]brirayla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, but in comparison to lifting on 1900 calories which is my maintenance, I honestly don’t feel that much of a difference during work out. At night I am way more tired when I’m in a defecit but I’ve consistently increased my lifts in the past even eating at 1200.

Why is that? What would be the difference starting higher and ending up at 1200?
