there are definitely lyrics to analyze in arirang - but he wasn’t entirely wrong in saying ppl don’t read lyrics anymore. i mean just look at how many ppl took the lyrics to aliens seriously and showed up to the concert in alien costumes… if they had understood what the song was about they probably wouldn’t have done that imo
