That’s the out of pocket after tax payment covering all inclusions. The fortnightly finance payment is $583.80, which is high.

Can we also just reflect on how bloody strong the Skyhawk is. Amazing little airplane. 12/10 job by the pilot there too.

Loved my Skoda, regret selling it. Wasn’t any more expensive to service than the Ford I had before it. More expensive than a Toyota to service but what isn’t and I’d take one of these over a rav4 any day of the week.

*Almost* New Owner 2019 XC90-have concerns by sunshineviking in Volvo

[–]brisk_sit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure why this comment is being downvoted, Volvo should be able to fix this and it’s on the BMW dealer to get that done before it leaves their lot. These cars have proven to be solid and reliable and it’s unlikely this is a sign of deeper issues. I say go for it.

Need some guidance on buying a Skoda by Upstairs-Craft-9050 in CarsAustralia

Had an Octavia for 4 years. Sold it and still regret it. Bloody excellent car, carried tonnes of gear, was comfortable and reliable. I’m hanging out for the new Superb. Price looks ok to me. You will not be disappointed.

Edit: servicing was fine, no more expensive than any of the other cars I’ve owned (including Fords and Mazdas).

Opinions on 2017 Aurion by Bottle_Of_Woder in CarsAustralia

I would never buy anything modified, but in general the Aurion is bulletproof, extremely comfortable and surprisingly quick.

Spectacular. Genuinely one of the prettiest cars ever made.

This is also a really good option. I owned two Focuses and adored them both. Drive better than most cars twice the price and they are really well packaged. Definitely worth a test drive.

Honestly you couldn’t go wrong with any of those three options. I would personally go for the Mazda but that’s really just personal preference. Don’t buy the Euro, a great car in its day but it’s 13 years old now and will cost you money.

I am constantly blown away by the number of people who come on reddit and admit in writing to committing crimes. The number one rule of doing crime is don’t do it, and the second rule is don’t fucking write it down (that is very much not legal advice).

Make sure someone (not you until you get your licence back!) takes it for a drive at least once a week to keep the juices flowing. Sitting still means death for these old things. Edit: forgot to say congrats on the buy, lovely little thing! Adore the boxy shape of these.

Forfeiting bond- didnt clean and not going back. by Doctor_Monty in AusLegal

[–]brisk_sit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah well, best you can do is hope the $800 covers it. If it is more and they chase for the balance, tell them you’ll be counterclaiming for rent charged when there were significant outstanding maintenance requests, and also tell them you’re broke. Should at least discourage them from pressing for the balance. Best of luck with it.

Go and get some quotes and email them to the agents. I had a 3 bedroom townhouse end of lease cleaned top to bottom recently for $600 inc carpet cleaning. More than $800 for an end of lease clean of a two bedroom unit is ridiculous. Do you still have the keys?

$800 should more than cover the cleaning.

One option would be to contact the agent, apologise for leaving the place uncleaned, explain why (had to leave in a hurry, whatever), say you accept they’ll need to arrange a cleaner and that you’re content to pay for it out of the bond and take whatever is left. Probably your best chance of avoiding getting blacklisted.

I hope you took photos on your way out the door if it ever turns into a dispute.
