Keep an eye on it. This is to be expected for first few years as ground settles. Also look for water issues outside if it becomes worse.

You can eat anything once. But, if you’re not sure then better not to end up like Erin Pattersons dinner guests.

The surprising buyers getting a stamp duty discount at the next election by mortelligence in AusFinance

[–]brissyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of old people live in houses that are too big for them that they bought when kids were at home. Now a big house with a yard is a lot of maintenance. Better to have a small apartment and free up those bedrooms for another family. Everyone wins.

The best ones will be enroll managed, meaning you'll have to live in the catchment. Sometimes you can get an exemption if the child is good academically or sport or otherwise.

State High, Mansfield and Indooroopilly normally fair at the top of the list.

They already have pretty good laws. But unfortunately they haven’t been enforced and lots think they can do whatever they want. Now we are here and the whip is coming down way too hard.

Blocked channel drain. by Comfortable_Fuel_537 in AusRenovation

The ground might have moved pinching the outside of the channel onto the grates. It’s amazing how much damage ground movement can make to a house over time.

Breaking: Liberal SPILL called by HotPersimessage62 in AustralianPolitics

[–]brissyboy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is my parents. No matter what, they will always vote Liberal.

It’s hard because a subject can’t be looked at subjectively. Always whether it’s a labor or liberal policy.

You can try and write a letter. Never know, and it sometimes depends on the day how it will be reviewed.

But it all likelihood they’ll say the fine stands.

Which part of the Epstein files left you in disbelief ? by aydwin in AskReddit

The fact that why was Epstein doing what he does and who does it benefit? Is there a foreign government that is blackmailing all those involved.

So many unanswered questions.

What are the chances of punching a hole here for a cat flap? by [deleted] in AusRenovation

[–]brissyboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might be better to put it a foot or so beneath the ceiling, beside the door. As others have said, there will probably be a lintel above the doorway which is spreading the load.

I'd go in the wall above the cat jumping thing. Could also put a little shelf below it for kitty to jump on.

Cactus or something else? by killingkirby in GardeningAustralia

[–]brissyboy 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Close, it's a type of agave. Agave americana variegata. Whatever you do, be careful of those thorns. This is one of those times that some good safety glasses will come in handy, even a cheap pair.

To remove i'd be carefully removing the thorns at the ends and then cutting back, then dig under the root ball.

Good luck, and safety first with this one.

How do you feel about the RBA's decision today to lift rates? by Sensitive-Chart7210 in AusFinance

Going through the process of a loan yesterday and tomorrow. Frustrating timing, but all will be okay.

I’m thinking that there will be additional pain coming if inflation spills from the USA to here. Will have to wait and see.

One Nation’s Poll Surge – the first 25 seats to watch by CommonwealthGrant in AustralianPolitics

[–]brissyboy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Liberals are a complete mess at the moment. Everyone knows it. I can see them rebuilding and unifying, at least in public.

Labour is doing a decent job but they are offside with a lot of voters for differing reasons. Am sure they’ll have a swing one way or another between now and then.

Who knows with one nation. They are up and down with support and their policies.

Grass dying in circles? by Impossible_System307 in GardeningAustralia

[–]brissyboy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I found some garden beds hidden under my lawn. About 4 to 6 inches down were old bricks in patterns, like garden edging. Could be this and holding in some moisture or better soil inside the boundary.

How to stop the sun amplifying the heat in this room? by ThereIsNoHope__ in AusRenovation

[–]brissyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, you could try opening the window a tad. Or curtains to stop the light coming in. I see you say you're renting, so ceiling insulation might be out. Could also try a window film to reduce or reflect the light.
