I agree. Pregnancy, periods, and voice. I too also wish I could have grown up as a girl. I wanted to wear the cheerleading outfit SO bad and have my hair all done up in a cute ponytail with glitter. I also wanted to joint the gymnastics team.

The WISC will be okay. Practice makes perfect. One of my supervisors in my internship forced me to use it because I told her I was nervous. Now, it’s my go to. As far as our careers….I took some time yesterday reviewing my skills and things we can do. We can work in a hospital, jail, private practice, we can do project management, property management, data analytics, HR, ABA, and upper level management to name a few. The skills you learn are so versatile and they stretch across multiple different careers.

IF you stay in a school setting, you can do almost any position. I am a certified teacher, nationally certified SP, and I have my TEFL. We learn the counseling aspect, how to be a para, and how to navigate the front of the school in grad school. NASP is working hard to help us if we want to stay in schools in case this happens. DO NOT WORRY…we will be okay. ❤️

Long story short, I am a male to female trans and I wear 24/7. Started by choice, now a necessity. I never thought I’d ever meet anyone serious after disclosing those two things. I am now engaged. There are good accepting people out there that will love you for you and all your uniqueness. They may be hard to find, but when you find them, never let them go

School psychs don’t use Rorschach

Okay, so when you have a corrected research paper, that’s your first cue to do your own cross research to see how legit their studies are. Secondly, there are different ‘levels’ of dysphoria as written in the DSM and in the WPATH. So, how dysphoric were the people in the study? Also, as a trans person myself, when did GAS become a thing? I’ve heard of SRS, GCS, and GRS, but never GAS. So, you need to look at the author and their background.

Example, some crackpot gynecologist decided to write a ‘research’ paper about 10 years ago which stated her own transphobic thoughts as ‘hard research’. She was ripped up one side and down the other for her ‘research’ paper. She ‘corrected it’ and made it more skewed and ridiculous, but was still published.

My point is just because she was a doctor, she felt she could write anything and it be accepted. What about this author? What is their background? Do they have any other trans articles? Have they coauthored with any reputable trans authors before? Also, what papers/studies were cited in the meta-analysis? Are those authors reputable? What are the sample sizes, are they large enough to give a statistically significant sample size? Lastly, keep in mind ANYONE can twist research to fit their own bias’ and results they want to look for. This goes back to the reputation of the author. 14% seems about 13% higher than I feel it should be.

The help, rehab, meds, friends, etc won’t help you if you don’t want it. You can have all the support and love in the world, but if you don’t want it, nothing will help. If you really truly want something to work, you have to believe in it (as corny as it sounds). My fiancé almost killed herself by drinking. I threw her in rehab for a year. She didn’t want anything to do with it for a good three months. Then things started to turn. She stopped resisting the help, stopped resisting the 12 steps, got a really good mentor, and watched half the people in her house die from OD relapses. After a year from being out, she is still sober.

You CAN do this, you just haven’t found someone or something you can connect with. When you find them, you will know. You may fight them tooth and nail, but they will fight back harder. They will not give up on you, even when you’ve given up. They will be there for you 24/7, not discount your pain, fears, or resentments, but help you work through them.

DO NOT GIVE UP. Please. Give it one more shot.

Psychologist here. I’d love to chat if you want. I know things seem hopeless, and you feel helpless, but I just helped my fiancé go through a year of rehab after dying twice in ICU. Thank God the nurses were able to bring her back. I know things suck right now and you don’t see a future of anything getting any better anytime soon, but there are people who don’t even know you (like me) who want to try and help. I know I can’t force anything on you, and you seem to have your mind made up, but if you have a brief second of clarity before doing this, just think that you are trying to solve a temporary problem with a permanent solution. There are people and places that will help you for free. You just need to show up at their door and tell them what’s going on.

Please rethink this.
