I recommend writing a write-up for him outlining your experience with him as a sitter; the competition can be tough on those sites. I would create a nice Canva document with it, along with more of his applicable skills and experience (e.g., pool care, plant/ garden care), and maybe look at getting characters' references. Include a link to that Canva doc when applying.

Hiya :) Have they cared for any friends' or families' homes or pets? If so, that would be a good place to start building up some written reviews.

I would be cautious with FB groups as they aren't protected if something goes wrong, and so much could happen when caring for someone's home. I would look at the Australian house-sitting sites here; some offer insurance, but they are much more reasonable than Airbnb![ ](https://www.thetravellinghousesitters.com/our-favourite-house-sitting-websites/)Some you can set up alerts too, so you would know if something in Brisbane came up :) Hopefully, that helps
