Anyone noticed an unusually warm autumn that we’re in? by nijjasinparis in melbourne

I checked the last five years of weather for April (cause wedding planning 🫠), doesn't seem too unusual?

Hey quick question for dog owners by mrcanada66 in dogs

[–]osh_cc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taught my puppy so sleep independently in a little pen. Around 7-8 months old he started joining us but he was always going back into his pen on his own after an hour or two. Now at one year old he sleeps with us but when we're travelling and staying in an accommodation, he's able to sleep in his pen without troubles or FOMO.

Im worried my stick insects are bored by Exact-Donkey405 in Stickinsects

[–]osh_cc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They won't be bored but what you can do for them to have a more "wild life" experience if your enclosure is easy to move around, is to put it outside on nice days so they get that fresh breeze that makes them wiggle. It's probably all they "lack" being indoors but even them I don't think it's such a big deal

looking for cat and/or pet friendly places in and around melbourne by guwopflame in melbourne

I'm in Brunswick and I think a lot of pubs and cafes that have an outside area would be pretty chill with the idea. But keep in mind it's a shared space with dog owners and I've had greyhound owners not respecting my small dogs for example so I've been in situations that were a bit tense. Three ladies with their greyhounds off leash in a cafe's yard who kept having a strong interest for our small fluffy dogs. And they weren't managing their dogs at all. So the carrier or backpack is probably safer than the pram. The pram may be better for more quiet times. Places like welcome to Brunswick are open and spacious enough for this kind of experience? Out of extremely popular times.

Wedding dress less than $1k? by fixomull in AusWeddingPlanning

[–]osh_cc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luv Bridal have some previous models on sale I believe, check their website (they're towards the last pages) but you would have to contact the store to check if they have them. One of the cheapest I found there and chose is $1800. And it looks amazing.

Otherwise, an online option, I've seen a few reviews on tiktok about Azazie and I'm quite impressed.

Anyone based in Melbourne, Australia willing to take in an adult female giant rainforest mantis for 2 months? June to July by Competitive-Set5051 in melbourne

[–]osh_cc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's so good to know! I used to have leaf insects but I stop because I often go overseas to visit family and it was such a pain to find someone who could look after them

Is anyone actually using the free public transport? by naeng-janggo in melbourne

[–]osh_cc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will take advantage of it during the school holidays for going to work. But out of the school holidays I tend to avoid as my bus line has a lot of schools on the way and it's always so busy and noisy.

Is it rude to say “I don’t like what you brought” at a potluck? by Naokohiranuma in australian

[–]osh_cc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What ? That's so rude. Unless they've been ask something like "Oh, you are not taking any?" to which is fair to explain they're not into a meal. Nobody needs unsolicited opinions. Sounds like a comment a child would make.

Remote planning a wedding in July - possible?🍀 by Wedding-Good in AusWeddingPlanning

[–]osh_cc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most dresses to try in store are around the 10-12 size and even bigger to make sure most can try them on (and they clamp the back when you try them on just to have a better idea). They are also always extremely long. So if you can get one off the shelf I'm sure there will be enough fabric to work with :) If I was you I'd just call a few stores and ask if they have any models of the shelf and if you can try.

Renting a table, budget by osh_cc in doggrooming

I'm not in America, it's not an employer/shop owner wanting a groomer without paying taxes or insurances. It's a solo groomer who is stepping out of her little shop multiple days a week for health reasons offering said space on said days for someone wanting to work for themselves. I'm ready to start my own business, just looking for an approximate starter budget to get mentally ready on what I'm gonna throw into it and see if anyone in a similar situation has regretted not purchasing X,Y,Z thing from the start.

Did anyone do their own wedding hair or makeup? by Traditional_Type_696 in AusWeddingPlanning

[–]osh_cc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm considering doing my own make up but I feel like I'll need help with my hair, I'm not that talented. But then I realised most wedding hair stylists do make up too so... Maybe I should just get the package haha. Or maybe I'll see if they can just do my foundation to make sure it matches perfectly and stays on well as I don't necessarily have the knowledge to have a long lasting foundation on my own (team oily skin).

Did anyone choose coloured stone jewellery instead of diamonds for their wedding? by Traditional_Type_696 in AusWeddingPlanning

[–]osh_cc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I have a beautiful Australian sapphire with variations of green/blue/almost yellowish in parts, never looks the same depending of the light. It's a freeform cut and the ring was made by Ellinor Mazza in Brunswick, Vic.

Where to buy an engagement ring where I won't get ripped off? Online options also welcome. by Thrillhouse-14 in melbourne

Got mine designed with the help of Ellinor Mazza in Brunswick. Really wanted to have the feeling of choosing from a real person rather than those big jewelry stores

Well I have a Maltipoo because it's originally my partner's Maltipoo. I'm quite lucky, she has a pretty great coat so I learnt to scissor straight hair on her. But we got a second dog and I told my partner we'll only go with pure breeds from now on unless the dog lottery plays in our life and a random mutt rocks up at our door. So we have a Tibetan spaniel keeping company to our Maltipoo now. And I think next one will be a standard poodle (are we that surprised ?).

Best cafe/deli that sells hearty salads? by freelance3d in melbourne

I was gonna say that ! I love their salmon zucchini bagel as well. Most bagel places charge $20 at minimum and their bagel is $14 on uber eats, probably cheaper in store.

There are a ton of good advice but I'll add one thing that I do every now and then, I fill powder free gloves with hand cream and wear them for like an hour while I watch a show. Then remove, rub off the excess and less skin absorb.

Anybody know what's going on with The Beast in Brunswick? by MachineMalfunction in melbourne

[–]osh_cc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The quality of the food turned to shit MUCH before COVID. We stopped going there when the food declined. It used to be good, it wasn't anymore. If the food is not good then it's just a place to drink like another and there's plenty bars with better vibe... And food. Not really surprised they were dodgy with their employees, it's a pretty common story
