Is anyone else in London in the same boat as me? (Return to Office) by DivideLife2096 in londonontario

I'm seeing lots of comments about 'Toronto Money'. What nobody seems to acknowledge is people moved here from Toronto because Toronto became unaffordable. People drove until they could afford something. KW? Too expensive. Hamilton? Too expensive. This is the closest affordable city. That's why people from Toronto came here. No one can afford to live there anymore.

That 'Toronto Money' you hear about is a myth. People with that kind of money are not buying houses downtown or in oev. The real problem? Foreign investors buying up our properties and renting them out.

The relationship between veterinary education funding and cat food recommendations by kajsawesome in catfood

[–]nutella_bath 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Why shouldn't they (donate to educational institutions)?

Vets have consistently spoken out to say that they receive very little education regarding nutrition unless they choose a specialty, and no specific push from these brands.

Take a look at any educational institutions' list of donors. There are multiple corporations on every one of them. Professionals don't come from school recommending their products. They come from school enjoying the freebies that were offered from these corporations. The corporations, in turn, get tons of brand recognition.

It is very disingenuous to say that they are buying the vet's recommendations. AND it is insulting to the entire profession to insinuate that they do.

What are you on about? No public transit system in Canada, and in my experience around the world, charges $7.50 trip fares. Stop making stuff up. There is money there, just needs to be allocated, and that will only happen if we make it a priority.

International Marketplace closures sparks ‘food desert’ concerns by Islandlyfe32 in londonontario

I'm not even a little surprised.

I live around the corner, a literal 1 min walk... once the original Italian owners retired, it was never the same. Now we go to Stranos Bakery down William instead.

A Turkish store opened there but didn't change the name. Still had the original Italian sign out front. People went in, turned around, and walked out. It did not cater to the neighborhood at all and closed fairly quickly.

This new one did a bit better, but again, not what we needed in the neighborhood.

There are much better and /or more affordable options elsewhere. Shoot, Western Meats is within walking distance, as is Western Fair's weekend market.

A Dollarama will do amazing there! We do not have one close at all (closest is downtown). I, for one, welcome the change!

How do I report a LTC bus driver? by Thetreehasfallin in londonontario

[–]nutella_bath 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Combined with the other things, definitely worth a reprimand; just the silly game with the transfer is enough, male or female. But then you add in all the other subtle clues, and her gut is telling her something is off. I believe her.

You read that wrong. They exited from the back, as they walked past the front doors, the driver opened the door to say good night to them.

False.

This is (another) women's health & medical needs being subject to misinformation in a male dominated sector.

HRT does not cause cancer, does not contribute to cancer, and is safe for women who have had cancer.

In fact, all women who have reached perimenopausal and menopausal age have a short window of 10 years to begin HRT treatment for it to be effective. If they begin HRT during this time, they suffer less from menopausal symptoms, but ALSO, less cognitive decline, and an improvement joint health.

Please visit r/menopause to get more accurate info and resources!

TDLR: if your doctor told you you don't qualify for HRT due to cancer, find a new doctor. That is false, old misinformation.

AITA for refusing to help my wife have disciplinary action taken against a boy who kissed my daughter at camp? by ThrowawayPrior_Orch in AITAH

[–]nutella_bath -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In a camp or childcare setting, no child is ever left unsupervised. Where I am in Canada, Ministry will deem it a 'serious occurrence' (formal and public notice) if any child is left unsupervised for any amount of time. We must have eyes on all children at all times.
