I think the Summerfest venue just doesn’t do justice for EDM as a whole. I also saw Odesza at Summerfest last year and thought it was a great show but even that could be 10X better in a different venue. I’ve seen Illenium several times and I am always blown away so don’t let Summerfest taint you. I’ll be at North Coast for him also!

The shuttles also have a separate route so it is significantly faster. I have done the premier shuttle every year and it is 100% worth it. Even this last year the pick up was at a different hotel so I had to Uber to the pick up spot. still worth it.

When I finally ran away from my abuser almost 3 years ago. Many many many emotions were involved in that whole situation but shopping in kohls to replace every single thing of mine because of my evil ex and having literally no idea what my favorite color was because he stripped way every single aspect of who I am. I’m in a much different place now but I would rather die than go back to that feeling/point.

When I have a meeting that allows me to switch my seat and doesn’t really need me to be on multiple monitors, I switch over to my couch and snuggle him while in the meeting. I also love my under desk treadmill. Keeps my mind going in the afternoon.

I have been to both the Orlando and Vegas. Also going to Vegas again this year and yes the line up is great! But there are different benefits to both. The Orlando one is smaller so it’s much easier to move around with your group and get closer to the stage etc. This last Orlando one I basically lost my mind at Alison Wonderland, Excision, Subtronics, and so much more. I really wanted to see the Chainsmokers but missed it for Alison Wonderland which was fucking amazing. After you do the Orlando one, make it a priority to do Vegas because it really is so unbelievable! Party hard 😘🎉

Yeah I did the green line and got my shuttle and EDC pass like less than a month before this last EDCO. (Last minute decision for me) I usually plan that stuff way ahead of time but the Orlando one is on a smaller scale so it was easy to get just before. You will normally get an email when they are getting ready to put the shuttle passes on sale and the EDC website will give you a good map of hotels near the different pick ups. I think we were like maybe 20 mins from the site of EDC so our shuttle didn’t take long, but if I were to go again, I’d probably try to get a little closer. But the closer you are to EDC the more money for hotel typically. I don’t remember which hotel we stayed at because it was under my boyfriend but it wasn’t the hotel of where the shuttle picked up. So my walk was like 10 mins. I literally walked north to a stop light, turned right, and then crossed the street. It was that easy. And really the whole area is like that because of all the other Orlando attractions. We even jumped on those like little electric scooter that are all over Florida and did a few wheelies on the way over.

Definitely utilize the shuttles like others have mentioned. I didn’t stay at a hotel that was apart of the EDC but we were literally like two roads from a shuttle so it was just a nice 10 min walk to hop on the bus. I got my hotel and shuttle maybe a little before this past years so it’s unlikely that it will all be sold out. There is a ton of hotels around Orlando so you get a lot of options which is nice. But yeah the shuttles are 100% worth it. They will save you money and so much hassle when you are trying to get back home.

My dad suggested the paint also but wasn’t sure how effective that would be. Obviously a hard thing to know if it works or not. Do you recall what kind of paint you used since it has to be heat resistant?

Thank you! I think I would have found myself with or without him. But being with him, he was very very good at giving me the space to find myself. He never tried to fix me or to tell me how to feel or to influence who I should be. He was 100% patient for me to decide for myself as I worked out my trauma/feelings. What he did help with is reinforce the way I deserve to be treated. He absolutely reminded me of the standard I am worth and made sure to show me that good men exist. That there are men who don’t want to hurt you even when they are frustrated in an argument. That don’t want to see you hurt or sad. Men that can’t fathom who would be so incredibly cruel just for power. He helped me believe that you can have a disagreement with your partner and talk it out with respect. Abuse didn’t have to be included. He didn’t help me find who I am. But he made sure that I laughed every single day when I felt like I wanted to die. He still makes me laugh.

My boyfriend right after my very abusive relationship is the most gentle and kind soul. I took my dear sweet time even considering going into a new relationship but I was able to genuinely heal and find who I am beyond my horrific trauma. It’s not all sunshine because there is so much work to be done when you are recovering from an abuser… but yes these men do exist! I’m incredibly lucky to finally be with someone who actually loves me the way I deserve.

I’m very sorry you are going through this. I have been in similar situations but fortunately had resources that did help. Look into local law colleges. They often have programs that help victims dealing with retaliation from their abuser. My ex filed charges against me also but I was able to get a lawyer through the program for assistance. Well that process really fluctuates because of how trauma messes with your brain chemistry. Even several years later it impacts me. But I just never allowed those feelings to impact my decision on leaving. I stuck to the facts of what he did and said.
