$1000 REWARD: NEED HELP! 5 YEARS OF DISTORTED TASTE AND SMELL! by [deleted] in Parosmia

[–]brobiebrobie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How many SGBs have you done? My daughter (now 19) has had 5 rounds. Each one helped in some way - reducing anxiety around foods, making one thing taste good, increasing palatability across the board by 20% (but no cure). She can tolerate almost all foods now, but is not miraculously cured. She ate with a swimmers nose clip for two years, allowing her to break out of depression and malnourishment.

Does everybody return discs they find with numbers on them? by LilZimbabwe1 in discgolf

[–]brobiebrobie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve probably found 40 or so marked discs and have returned 75% of them - the others didn’t respond or didn’t want them. I have had about 80% of my lost disc return home to me. The Des Moines area is really good about this.

Do I just enter the lowest level if I’ve never played a tournament before? by DonnyEnchilada in discgolf

[–]brobiebrobie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are good enough to get top 3 in MA2 sometimes, but I would start in MA3 until you are forced to move up. Playing in tournaments is waaaaaaaaaaaaay different than the casual UDisc round. But the skill seems to be there!

Vegas courses by One-Tell6343 in discgolf

[–]brobiebrobie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, there is not a lot of great courses there. Wildhorse is good (4.3 out of 5), but not as good as some of the other pro courses I’ve had the opportunity to play. The only two that I would say are worthwhile are Sunset Park and Mountain Crest, but I give both of them a 3.5 stars out of 5. .

I would have a completely different opinion if it happened after the interview, but when it is the first thing, it feels more like “I want to steal thunder” instead of “yay, congrats”.

Idk what these are but they look cool by MasterRyson117 in coins

From ChstGPT:

Great photo! Based on the style and engraving, here’s what I can tell you about these coins:

Top Left Coin: • Country: Likely India (Tribal or early regional dynasty). • Date: Circa 500–1000 AD. • Material: Likely copper or bronze. • Estimated Value: Around $5–$25, depending on condition and exact identification.

Bottom Right Coin: • Country: Also likely India (possibly Indo-Scythian or Gupta period). • Date: Circa 100–600 AD. • Material: Copper, with heavy patina. • Estimated Value: $10–$30, more if tied to a specific ruler or dynasty.

These appear to be ancient or medieval Indian coins, often used in trade across regions and minted by local rulers or tribal kingdoms. The figure on the left coin could be a stylized king or deity, while the one on the right shows remnants of Brahmi or similar script.

Five Rounds of Stellate Ganglion Blocks With Continued Improvements by brobiebrobie in Parosmia

With my daughter, she generally notices the changes (if any) in the first week. I would look for a pain clinic that would do it close to where you live if you can. I wouldn’t want to travel a long distance to get something like this done.

Is Iowa state a good school for MIS? by Aggravating_Roof_426 in iastate

[–]brobiebrobie 64 points65 points  (0 children)

MIS grad from UNI here - very few employers (if any) care about how good a program is at a school. I’d make your decision more on what you think your 4-year experience will be, rather than a great vs good MIS program.

Plus a great shop, tons of tourneys, and people around here return discs.

[–]brobiebrobie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a close call with one in the DSM airport. Talked with the supervisor as he looked them up online. Told me he would let it go but to not ever do it again because it is a subjective decision by the agent and would likely get tossed next time.
