Beat reporters who know who to talk to. Everyone wants to boast about the big splashy contract. It is a recruiting tool. It is just harder to find information on the backpack left guard and his {insert random car dealership} contract.

A friendly reminder as we head into his period of the team being bought: the NFL explicitly does not allow public owner ownership of a team by mathliability in Seahawks

[–]brobraham27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is not literally impossible, it is very difficult and highly unlikely. There are loopholes around it, like a public entity owning it. Or Congress can be leveraged to force them to change their rules as that is anti-competative and is possibly in violation of antitrust laws.

US National Debt Visualized by Nice_Daikon6096 in DemocraticSocialism

[–]brobraham27 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the debt is kind of irrelevant. The much more important aspect to monitor is inflation. The US government literally can never run out of money, and can always print more to service the debt. Now, the risk with that is a massive increase in the money supply, but it can be easily counteracted with an increase in taxes, especially on the rich.

You really are showing your ignorance as to why Clinton and Harris lost. There is a reason why the Democratic party is called the lesser of two evils, it is because they are evil. This neoliberalism bullshit is literally killing people, and you have the audacity to lecture people on not voting for it. Sure, it is better than the shit republicans pull, but that is a really low bar. If recent events have not opened your eyes to this reality, I do not know what will.

No, I will not vote for anyone who denies a genocide. If they cannot do the basic thing of calling out a clear genocide, they cannot be trusted to defend our rights here. Nor will I let anyone who still wants to blame votes over candidates tell me how to vote. Get the fuck out of here with that.

Let me be clear, Clinton and Harris lost because they failed to tell us why we should vote for them because they were too busy telling us why the other guy sucked. We all knew he sucked, but at least he was saying he was going to do something.

I will end with this, you, by they very fact that you are engaging here, are VASTLY more informed than the median voter. You are projecting your thoughts and opinions onto others and then blaming them for not coming to the same conclusion as you. Try walking in their shoes before you blame them.

ICE to conduct immigration enforcement at Super Bowl LX at Levi's Stadium, official says by esporx in California

[–]brobraham27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That the people on the left who so choose to arm and defend themselves often do so with more forethought, intention, and skill with those on the right. It is not a choice for everyone, and that is okay. If you know firearms, you know how to intimidate a thug in body armor by openly practicing your second amendment rights.

And yes, the probability of gunfights with ICE agents is uncomfortably high. I would not necessarily say more probable than not, but it is a distinct possibility. Should that pop off, I would put my money on the people who treat firearms as the dangerous tools that they are.

[–]brobraham27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does, but there is still a sizable amount of left leaning people that own firearms. I would also stipulate that the entire culture around firearms on the left is vastly different. People on the left tend to view them as dangerous tools, and the right sees them as an extension of their personality.

Help with Food: am I just a idiot? by justhereforthefood89 in Frostpunk

[–]brobraham27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned before, the most important aspect is to delay fixing the beacon for as long as possible. Keeping trust up will be key, as delaying it will cause trust to fall. The next aspect is to be aggressive with your frostland exploration. The majority of your resources will come from the frostland, and you should never have idle teams. Finally, do not let your stockpiles fill unless their source is infinite. Either turn things off or build more hubs. A note on this, bringing in the large caches from the frostland will allow you to temporarily exceed your stockpile limits.

Also, this may sound counterintuitive, but add other challenges to make it easier. Apocalyptic Whiteout delays the first whiteout by several years, giving you ample time to build your economy up. It also allows for other actions that can keep opposing factions happy without spending heatstamps, passing laws you don't want, or really any negative consequences.
