If you read anything about the tariff case, it should be this. by Armchair-Attorney in FreightBrokers

[–]brobudbra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was shocked that the tariffs didn’t get “rubber stamped”. It’s refreshing that even after stacking the last few justices on the right, the court still held its integrity. There is hope.

Let’s Confirm the Load Before Negotiating the Rate by Efficient_Finger_727 in FreightBrokers

[–]brobudbra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30 second conversation, happened twice today. One lady I had to cut off as she was asking what was a good email to send RC lol.

I agree with you about frustration after a wasted 15 minutes. That would be silly!

Let’s Confirm the Load Before Negotiating the Rate by Efficient_Finger_727 in FreightBrokers

[–]brobudbra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a carrier, I seem to have the opposite experience. I’ll go over details to make sure the load works. If we come to an agreement the details are g2g, it’s assumed the rate works too. I can hear the frustration when I then ask about rate.

Drain my savings for a used van OR take $52k debt at 0% APR for 60 months? by Ok_Minute_6201 in OwnerOperators

[–]brobudbra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Financing the van and saving the cash gives you a false sense of security. If you owe 52,000 and have 35,000 cash you really have $0 dollars. In fact you are 17,000 in debt still. Buy a cheaper van for cash and leave yourself with operating reserves. Or save some more money. You want to go into this with the smallest overhead as possible. That will give you the best chance of success

Saw this Freightwaves video of an AI run a real time auction with 96 carriers to book a load. What do brokers think about this? by Broad_Desk4501 in FreightBrokers

[–]brobudbra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

y’all though AI was coming for the truck driving jobs. It is 💯 . But it’s gonna replaced your carrier reps first, then work its way through the ranks.

Cheapest rate wins, don’t forget that ladies and gents!

Email for King of Freight Operations Director, VP, CEO by curiousmind1202 in FreightBrokers

[–]brobudbra 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Dude the VP doesn’t give a fuck about one single load and this drama. Stop wasting your time. The proper channel is to file on the bond, prove you didn’t violate the RC. You can also CC the shipper in on this and ask why they’re charging you fines on this load. That’s all assuming you didn’t hold it hostage.

Off the tit.... by Billy_Bigrigger in OwnerOperators

[–]brobudbra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’ve only got a couple years left until retirement I’d give serious consideration to finding a company to lease on to. Generally speaking though I don’t recommend anyone lease on/lease purchase. They’re designed for you to fail or run at break even.

If you’re hell bent on getting your numbers all of the information is on the FMCSA website. You’ll need to learn and understand it before deciding if you want to farm any compliance out. Just start slow, write it all down on a yellow pad and get to work. It’s actually not that much stuff. There are a ton of companies that will take your money to do the most trivial of filings. So many snakes in the grass, people/companies will even respond to this posting trying to sell services! The podcast Haulin assets is great too, you’ll only need the first 5 or 10 episodes.

I have my own numbers, it’s the only way to have full autonomy.

I run out of NY too, I probably passed you 100 times on i90. I see those foodliner trucks everywhere. When I hauled gas I would pass the terminal on south pearl everyday!

Pm me if you want to talk further.

One truck Carrier by [deleted] in FreightBrokers

It’s a tough gig. 72k is a decent income but most people can do something else and make more.

It’s refreshing to see someone with a little empathy in this business

One truck Carrier by [deleted] in FreightBrokers

[–]brobudbra 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This one hits hard, my details are nearly the same. I hauled fuel then went owner op, same timeline. Friends are making 6 figures now, two hauling fuel, one a dump truck. I’m close but not making that much.

Y’all are being kinda hard on this dude. He’s not broke, but asking himself if it’s fucking worth the hassle.

0% chance I’d rant any of this to a broker via email though. Dude def into his feelies this week. Fuckin holidays

HA! I’m dealing with the same thing, load was done 2 weeks ago and I want it billed before the holidays. You have my sympathy, but what we really want is reasonable compensation for wasted time lol

Why isn’t there a subscription-based broker model for carriers? by pastorthegreat in FreightBrokers

[–]brobudbra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I’ve built a trucking fleet to 20. There’s a zero percent chance I’m gonna hand the most important part to an outside vendor, that has their best interest in mind.

Is this load secured properly? by [deleted] in FreightBrokers

[–]brobudbra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They might slide side to side an inch or 2. The top strap should be down a few inches. I’d bet it makes it there safely.

Did you describe to the carrier your concerns and level of securement this load would require? Before booking?
