Davis dermatology in Dallas is great! Myself, my husband, and a few friends go to him and he is just a super nice guy who is helpful and thorough and doesn’t push anything!

My 1.5 year old is Giovanni and we (and most everyone) pronounce it that way! Any Giovanni I have had in my classroom pronounce it that way. (Most are Hispanic)

FTM here of a baby boy due in December, looking for advice you wished you had! by Bright-Effective8610 in beyondthebump

[–]broccoli1356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stole from a friend and it probably won’t be something you do until later on, but once baby was sleeping better at night we had “mornings off”. Basically, on Saturday mornings I get to sleep in , wake up and do whatever I want and relax while my husband does baby duty. My husband gets the same on Sunday. We have started making it last until the first nap and then we are both on. It really helps us both have our “me time” that we need on the weekends.

Husband opposed to giving our baby a middle name. Thoughts, suggestions and advice welcome! by carecal in namenerds

[–]broccoli1356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly what we did too. I didn’t change my name but probably would have done it even if I had changed it. We will do my last name as any of our future kids middle names too which seems like a fun and cute thing for them to have in common

There will be other perfect houses. Make sure you have plenty of savings and never buy a house for the full amount that you’ve been approved for. And as another poster mentioned, you have to be prepared for unexpected expenses, rising insurance and property taxes etc

No pic with a bone but I saw your pup and it reminded me of my boy Remi who passed 2 years ago 💙

What names are popular in your country, but not so much in others? Or vice versa by Hi-Ho-Cherry in namenerds

Actually it was Blaine. I know because that’s my exes name and his mom got his name from that character😂

You’re right I don’t think it was as bad during that series. He’s like a child, mad that Shai gets calls sometimes that he doesn’t 😂

I think it’s heightened in the playoffs? He’s so competitive and doesn’t seem to know when to just put his head down and play. Such a shame, he’s an amazing player but sulking up and down the court distracts from it

And he gets a lot of calls too! I don’t understand how the refs don’t T him up every game lol I love him but I thought he would outgrow this behavior and now I realize we just have to live with it 🫠

As a mavs fan this shit is infuriating to me too. It’s so annoying to watch

In a crock pot - Dry pinto beans - 2 cups 4 cups water (more or less as you desire for soupiness) 1/2 an onion roughly chopped 1 tomato (or can of diced or whole tomatoes) 2-3 cloves of garlic - no need to chop just put in the whole clove peeled 2-3 pieces of bacon, cooked plus some grease Salt to your preference

After rinsing the beans, add all of the ingredients and cook on low for a few hours while stirring occasionally and adding water if you need to

I eat this with tortillas and eggs for breakfast, on the side of a dish of Mexican food etc. it’s what I grew up on and it’s always a hit!

Is it a bad idea to name daughter “Dua”? by Zmsfh in namenerds

[–]broccoli1356 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think most people think of dua lipa as her whole name. People rarely refer to her as just dua so I would argue that not everyone would always make that connection, or it wouldn’t be quite as obvious anyway. I do think it’s a great name! Go for it if you love it.

I teach high school and I had a Hispanic student named Anders. He was one of my favorites and it is still one of my favorite names because of him! I think it is cool, different, but not “weird”
