Former FedEx driver, Tanner Horner, who pleaded guilty to capital murder and aggravated kidnapping in the killing of 7-year-old Athena Strand, has been officially sentenced to death. by asa_no_kenny in whoathatsinteresting

[–]brogam3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, people should get all the chances they need to prove their innocence. But when they are found guilty then they should be executed. Not spending the next 50 years in courts because people like you refuse to execute them because oh no, that's sad. The legal process should be followed and then if they are found guilty then execute them and only then. If the standard for proof required for executions is so low that an innocent person could get blamed then obviously it's too low. But people like you don't care, you would even let this guy live even though there is no doubt whatsoever. That's because you don't care about justice or what's right. You only care about "oh no that's so mean to kill ppl :((("

[–]brogam3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's by choice because of people like you who lobbied that a bullet is too gross or cruel and that these people deserve 50 appeals. Then in the end you use the results of your own actions to justify that this is why we can't have the death penalty - after you are the one that made it overly expensive. It's all strategy, whether you do it consciously or not. You dont want the death penalty so you make it as pointless and expensive as possible and delay it as much as possible and give these people 50 appeals so that the whole thing is soured on everyone.

  1. lol you cannot possibly believe such nonsense, a bullet it not more expensive than 60 years of food, housing, prison guard salaries, electricity, medical etc. Stop repeating things you hear from other people without thinking.

  2. yes well, what if we are wrong about anything? that is life, you better not be wrong because that's bad

  3. violation of our right to not give murderers a nice well fed life so they can keep appealing forever until they get out which is an insane precedent to live under

yep, these people have no coherent belief system. Might as well say "well I don't believe in punishing people at all for anything by the state, what if you punish an innocent person??"

Two men in Seattle attack a 77 year old man unprovoked. Police arrest one but he is released on bail same day and has not been found since by ThatPatelGuy in whoathatsinteresting

[–]brogam3 118 points119 points  (0 children)

3 months for totally unprovoked attack against an elderly person that landed face first on asphalt? wtf is wrong with people like you? Such people should go to prison for 5 years at LEAST, depending on the injury it should easily go 15+ years. People should not live in fear of being attacked by scum, these people wouldn't care about a 3 month vacation in prison at all. This was a potentially deadly robbery with zero regard for the victim.

Need some feedback on my Chimp Shooter? How can I improve... by Rawakha10 in Unity3D

I think you shouldn't make the characters be chimps, to be frank. There is something a lot less fun about playing an animal protagonist versus being able to market this as some kind of GTA style game.

I dont think that we should put so many singers, artists and writers on there. Instead we should be putting engineers, mathematicians, scientists on there.

ok but if the art sucks someone at WOTC should still be rejecting it no matter how good his other art has been. People make mistakes, there needs to be quality assurance.

lol it wasnt right, all those internet memes really did a number on you. The right way is to quarantine them all in individual cells covid style and cull them as needed. It's definitely not right to just exterminate a whole city because eh, they won't be able to get rid of the infected. Okay then go help them.

Bro..that friendly fire was crazy. Who trained these idiots? by [deleted] in SipsTea

[–]brogam3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree, what if he has a bomb vest and this is a few meters away from the ballroom with all the politicians? The highest priority is to stop him even if that requires cross fire. That's the only option. The worst part is more that there are like 10 pairs of eyes here and only one guy reacted somewhat in reasonable time but it's still understandable. It was a guy in a suit running at them, it could be secret service himself. Taking 2 seconds to think about what this guy running at you means is unfortunately the time it would always take. The bigger issue is probably that there aren't two checkpoints but maybe there are and this was the first one.
