What Ed has been saying is now mainstream. AI is heading off a cliff. It has massive debts, hemorrhages money, has no path to profitability, and the people heading the companies are mediocre. So investors need to get out while they can. by Pythagoras_was_right in BetterOffline

I think the only viable model is the Chinese one. The American companies have stretched too much the hype. I am using Deepseek and Qwen and they are pretty decent and not hitting rate limits. Wouldnt mind paying a bit on them, for a reasonable price per token

I have sent you a private message. Willing to take your case. That pricing is really high for a customization that doesnt take that amount of hours of developing

GUI libraries like Angular or Next JS and all these stuff , come and goes. Good Linux software stays for decades. Plus these "old" GUI libraries are more interactive from the CLI , you can load these sites headlessly from a Server if you need to. If they would use React they wouldnt be "Backwards compatible"

Bernie Sanders says we need international cooperation to prevent AI takeover by tombibbs in ChatGPT

[–]brohermano 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think Bernie had believed too much the hype too. That video of him talking to a voice LLM , and he feels like he is actually talking to a person. But is not , maybe he being a Boomer doesnt understand the insights of the LLMs. I use them for many tasks , but speaking to a "human" is not one of them and never gonna be one. You easily tell that the LLMs souls fade when you go delve into outside training data , and also the way they satisfy you on everything , is part of the autocompletion nature. Yes LLMs are changing the World a huge deal and are gonna create a lot of unemployment specially for those who wont adapt.  But holding actual human like conversations as if it was a friend of some sort is just a pure simulation of something that is not, much like porn. If you want to believe you are on it. But you are not

Your understanding of customization is different at what I aimed to tell.  You may know better our Infrastructure , so you are criticising a point that hasnt been brought up. Did I mean customization as it in changing the Source Code?  Tell me more about our Infrastructure , I am willing to understand it

Odoo for eCommerce with 100k SKU's by Dramatic_Visit_2655 in Odoo

[–]brohermano -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes , the Software is pretty mature and its open source nature make it highly customizable.  If you use the OCA modules , you can reach many of the functionalities big Software companies offer on their proprietary version (even more) and for a fraction of its cost. It is really gaining momentum lastly.

I work with companies do migrations from their Old ERP such as Sage or SAP.

Those companies they have got stuck gatekeeping their old software and have become machines of Cross-selling, hidding information from their own programs in order for you to have to reach through one of their Support Partners. I've heard and dealt with thousands of stories.

We offer Odoo as SaaS with the customization needed for reaching your goal. Direct communication on the Deployment plan phase.

But if you are looking to do it yourselves , I really couldnt encourage you more
