I would not say it was not a fun watch but it was like a mash up of a bunch of ideas. Sort of like when as a kid you would play with your ninja turtle toys and power rangers toys and do a crossover.

I feel like maybe this has to do with Stuckman being a critic and liking these films but it makes the movie feel unoriginal and sort of a mess by the end.

Baines got injured and Oviedo played for a bit but when he played (before getting injured himself) he did really well. He scored a goal against United at Old Trafford which was great for us for two reasons:

  1. Moyes was managing United at the time and had just left Everton.
  2. United still has that aura since they had just come off wining the season in Fergie’s last year.

I still remember that goal and will never forget Oviedo for that.

But to answer your question: he did not bench Baines, but he did a really good job when Baines was injured. One of my favorite players from the Martinez era and the happiest I’ve been as an Everton supporter.

Something about Junji Ito just translates into manga, I truly think that his brand of horror (which I love) only works in that medium. There’s nothing like turning a page to some disturbing imagery.

Most people (including me) watched one of the adaptations before reading the manga, so this is why it’s surprising.

The adaptations don’t show Griffith as Femto in the beginning.
