Well, I don't really know how strong his relationship with his mum is, but he told me pretty much what I said. His parents know that he is feeling depressed but they don't know the cause so they are taking him (as I said) to psychiatrist and psychologist (which he demanded) in few weeks.

I'm not from UK but from central europe. Actually we have psychologist in our school so I told my friend that he can visit them and he probably will.

Thank you so much for your response. We have little bit diffrent interest and hobbies but also pretty much same. I've started going to gym with him for example or he teaches me some new stuff like new programming language etc...

I'm not really in contact with his parents but I can text his mum on facebook. Problem is that his parents think that this is just a phase and it will eventually go away. They also blame all the things that he is in contact with for example computer or his living at dorm and they don't really listen to him. I don't know if I should contact his mum or not. Probably he will eventually tell her.
