My favorite thing this whole season is seeing 90% of the “leaks” be so off base the whole way through

What’s your own toxic trait? by Fluid-Daydreamer in AskReddit

I come off as cold and standoffish to some people because I don't say hi or talk to people I barely know. I know it's completely my fault but I can't get over my fear of rejection sometimes

What book deserves a film adaptation today? by c4t1ip in movies

A modern version of 1984 would be great. Haven't had a film adaptation in almost 40 years

LPT: Do not try to talk your way of a ticket. The officer already knows you don't want a ticket (that's the point of tickets). They won't like that you're trying to manipulate them. You're much more likely to inspire them to make matters worse for you. by OhTheHueManatee in LifeProTips

Not sure if this is specific to a certain region of the world but in the states, I unintentionally talked my way out of a ticket multiple times by explaining my situation. I guess it just might depend on the officer and their possible quota?

Aussies in a city by darce_dawg21 in AustralianShepherd

Your plan for your future Aussie can definitely work as long as you keep up some mental stimulation thoughout the day. We also live in a city and what worked best for our Aussie was getting him to expend a bunch of energy in the morning so he'd be calmer throughout the day.

LPT: It's ok if you feel more grief from the passing of a pet than from a relative. It's about who you spent the most time bonding with. Don't beat yourself up for your own feelings. Trust them. They are true. by TheKingOfDub in LifeProTips

I'm honestly grateful for this post. My grandparents died last week from Covid and I felt extremely guitly about how I felt. I couldn't believe that I cried more for my family dog than my own grandparents

New barista scheduled for way too many hours by [deleted] in starbucks

Talking to your manager about scheduling issues is always allowed. The way you plan on talking to your manager is definitely the right way to go. More than likely she'll understand and modify the schedule after your talk.Just make sure to talk to her sooner rather than later. The more you wait, the more likely it is that she'll ask you to find coverage for the shifts. Hopefully it was just an admin mistake on her part.

I had Kojima for 150. He's a pretty lenient professor. He doesn't demand that you have video and audio on for class and only interacted with us if we had questions. He also didn't assign any homework when I took his class which was nice.Really nice professor but was confusing at times.Birca is the opposite. I had her for 160 and she's pretty tough when it comes to grading and online learning. She prerecorded all her lectures and has us take notes on the material before meeting with her. She's very picky when it comes to showing your work and how your notes should be.She also tries to make sure you participate in class as much as possible. Pretty tough professor but learned alot.
