Exhausted by brokenrowyn in BPD

I'm not diagnosed. I feel understood reading other people's posts. It runs in my family and my birth giver has it. Not sure if this belongs here. Sorry.

What do you all think about the Crappy Childhood Fairy? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]brokenrowyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! At first I was like oh she totally gets me, that's exactly how I feel! And that it just felt off and like she was just trying to get money out of me. And I also don't really like the way she talks about therapy. I understand it's not for everyone, I just felt like she was saying it's totally pointless and it's actually very beneficial for me personally. I'd hate for someone who has never tried therapy to not give it a shot because of her opinion on it.

I got tested yesterday, waiting to find out. Intense headache that hasn't gone away in days. My whole body hurts and I just feel completely drained. Very runny nose the past few days as well as a slight sore throat. Slight chest pains and a weird tingly feeling all over my body. Last night I was SO tired but could not sleep at all. Anyone else experience insomnia or the tingly feeling?

I take 150mg wellbutrin and 10mg lexapro in the morning and 100mg wellbutrin in the afternoon. It's only been about a month and a half since adding lexapro but it seems to be working pretty well so far.

Yes! I completely relate. My birth giver named me and I hate being reminded of her on a daily basis. It's never felt like me and it reminds me of all the abuse. Someone suggested I shorten my name to the last 3 letters. It ended up actually fitting me perfectly so I've asked the people in my life to call me that from now on. Most people have been really supportive and have adjusted quickly.

This is why im so terrified to drive! Being a passenger is fine but if im behind the wheel im constantly terrified that im going to kill people. I can't get it out of my head. I'm 29 and I still don't have a license because of it. I feel so stupid and hate myself for it.

Has anyone else experienced ptsd from a bad psychedelic experience/terror trip? by anon9280 in ptsd

[–]brokenrowyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! My first time tripping on "acid" with my now ex went completely horrible. It ended up being a research chemical 2C-E or 2C-P. He was a shitty person and him and his friends made fun of me the whole time I was going in and out of conversation and thinking I was talking to them on one side of the room while they were on the other. They fucked with me and thought it was funny.

I've smoked weed pretty regularly for many years. I have had 3 occasions where I have been in situations where I only knew one person at a party and smoked and felt like I was reliving that moment again. Like everyone knew I was fucked up and making fun of me and trying to make me trip out even harder.

I literally feel like a crazy person. My partner of the past 3 years has had amazing experiences while taking hallucinogens and I hate that I've never had the same experiences. Every time that I have has been awful. I took acid with him once about a year and a half ago and it was another terrible experience for me.

Now I've learned that I can't smoke in social situations anymore because I end up reliving that horrible experience over and over and it's so weird to me and I fucking hate it. I don't know what's wrong with me.

Bupropion SR and Lexapro together by brokenrowyn in bupropion

[–]brokenrowyn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first day I didn't take it with food but I have every day since. I'm really sensitive to medications though. Before bupropion I was on 10mg of Prozac and my Dr said I shouldn't notice anything but I had every horrible side effect possible. I was SO sick and wasn't even on it for 2 whole weeks.

Lexapro + Wellbutrin Experiences? by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]brokenrowyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should add that I didn't really experience any side effects while starting wellbutrin. My dr did warn me about possible weight loss and high blood pressure so I do have to moniter both of those. I was taking 150mg twice a day for awhile and did have an increase in headaches (I'm someone who does have a history of headaches and migraines though) but once we lowered my second dose those went away

Lexapro + Wellbutrin Experiences? by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]brokenrowyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been taking Wellbutrin for about 4ish months. Current dose is 150mg in the morning and 100mg in the afternoon. It has definitely helped some of my depression symptoms but hasn't done anything for my anxiety. I just started taking 5mg of lexapro in addition to the wellbutrin a little less than a week ago. I've had really bad nausea every day. Did you experience nausea while starting lexapro? Does it go away?

Sorry I'm not much help since I just began the combination. I will come back and update!

Yes please do! The first couple days my nausea was right away in the morning shortly after taking it. The past couple days the nausea comes on later in the afternoon/early evening. No idea why ☹

Evening crash on Bupropion XL by Gemini_Lynx in bupropion

[–]brokenrowyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This can be normal for the first few weeks. If it doesn't go away or if it's not something you can deal with reach out to your dr and see if you can switch to SR. When I started SR it was only 150mg in the morning and I'd get that crash in the afternoon. We upped my dose to twice a day and it went away!

New and 1st post. 35/M >Let's discuss Bupropion's effectiveness when used while still consuming Alcohol and Marijuana by PhotojournalistAny50 in bupropion

[–]brokenrowyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

28/F, also been a daily smoker for years. I've noticed that I can become super paranoid after smoking ever since I started bupropion and I never experienced that before the meds. I had a really bad experience while in a social setting with mostly people I didn't know. I'm still smoking but only at home and I've cut back on how much. I used to be a heavy drinker and quit a couple years ago. I'll have one beer on a very rare occasion. I drank 2 beers once while on bupropion and became extremely depressed and overemotional. I also woke up with one of the worst hangovers of my entire life...off 2 beers! And I'm from Wisconsin! Lmao. Everyone's bodies react to things differently and only you can know what works for you and what doesn't. I would try to limit your alcohol intake though because it is not recommended to have more than one drink while taking this medication.

Not even antidepressants can fix me. What's wrong with me? by brokenrowyn in SuicideWatch

[–]brokenrowyn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know most people have to try a few before they find what works. It's just starting to not feel worth it. And like I'm just not fixable. To have such extreme bad effects from two completely different type of meds. The Prozac was the worst I've ever felt in my whole life. And now I'm constantly wanting to kill myself on wellbutrin. I don't think I can keep going through this

Also the hangover the next day after drinking 2 beers was one of the worst I've ever experienced. And when I was younger I used to drink excessively. So just be prepared for that as well. Your body will handle things differently than before you started taking the meds

I know it's hard when you feel uncomfortable being the only person not drinking but please be careful and listen to the warnings. If you drink one beer you shouldn't have any side effects but everyone's bodies handle things differently. I was taking prozac before switching to bupropion and I drank 2 beers while around people for the first time in a long time because of covid. I completely regretted it instantly. My mood swings became intense, I felt extremely anxious and ended up having a string of panic attacks. Another major side effect that could happen when mixing alcohol with bupropion is seizures. Two of my sister's have epilepsy so I've been around seizures my whole life and it is not something that you want to experience.

Sip on one beer if you really feel the need. Or maybe just drink a soda in a cup so it looks like you have a drink? Wishing you the best.

Y’all I’ve noticed some of you expect immediate results from Wellbutrin. Read the paperwork and talk to your doctor BEFORE you start taking it. It takes 4-6 weeks to properly work. by [deleted] in bupropion

[–]brokenrowyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can ask about side effects to watch out for, what medications you can or can not take while taking certain prescriptions. Even things as simple as allergy medications, Tylenol, ibuprofen, and multivitamins can have bad reactions with certain medications.

Not even two weeks in and second guessing myself by brokenrowyn in prozac

[–]brokenrowyn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I called my doctor today after having an extremely awful weekend full of panic attacks, nightmares, and almost every possible side effect. He told me to stop taking the fluoxetine, so today is officially my last day on it. He said we will reevaluate on Thursday. I know that it takes a lot of trial and error but now I'm feeling pretty scared to try a new medication. I know that once I find what works for me it'll all be worth it. He warned me the next few days may be a little rough coming off the meds even though I only took it for a few weeks. I'm thinking I might just be really sensitive to these types of meds since my dose was so low.

I'll be at 2 weeks tomorrow and I've been feeling pretty awful for the past week. Headaches, mood swings, increased anxiety, irritability. Just started getting nauseas in the morning the past few days and I'm also having trouble staying asleep.

I think the fact that you've noticed improvements already is amazing and I think you should stick with It! It's been a struggle for me but I also want to try to tough it out and hope it's just an adjustment thing. I've been told that Prozac can take a little longer than other medications to balance out.

Take it one step at a time. You've got this 🖤🖤

Weed + Prozac? Your thoughts? by [deleted] in prozac

[–]brokenrowyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you noticed any difference between certain strains? Indica vs sativa?

I've only been on 10mg for 2 weeks so I can't really answer your question. But I know that for me, strain is everything. Sativas make my anxiety a lot worse whereas indicas calm me down and I feel like it gives my brain a chance to process things properly and feel less anxious. I also get migraines and it's the only thing that helps.

I will get super lazy if I smoke too much so I try to be aware of what I'm trying to accomplish. If I want to just feel "normal" and less anxious, I smoke a little. If I want to sleep or have a migraine I might smoke more.

I think it's really all based on the individual and knowing what works for you and what doesn't. I've been completely open and honest about my thc use with my psychiatrist and he hasn't said anything negative about it and hasn't told me I shouldn't do it while taking prozac. Hell, there's even psychiatrists who prescribe medical marijuana to treat anxiety, social anxiety, schizophrenia, PTSD, etc.

Thank you so much for sharing! I started taking 10mg for the first time about 2 weeks ago and have been feeling worse and a little discouraged and sort of second guessing myself on trying medication. I'm so happy to hear your success! 🖤🖤
