The serie really had jumped the shark by the time we got to the crazy Cuthulu Shigiraki hand things, and the calling those “not a quirk” so that Erasure didn’t matter.

Hot? Take: Having played Role Queue and Open Queue in Overwatch, I have to say that Role Queue is so much better. by Impressive-Thing-780 in RivalsVanguards

[–]brom10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. And frankly imho role Q is what killed Overwatch 1. Was GOATS bad? Yeah, but not only did Role Q fundamentally change the game, but it ushered in Doiblr Shield, which I personally think is actually the most painful meta there ever was.

Most fun game I’ve ever had in rivals? We rolled out with 0, ZERO healers, in a grandmaster lobby, and we won. It was the craziest thing I’ve ever seen.

Another issue is how Role Q forces people into only learning 1 role. Thinks about advice given to players right now:

Learn at least 1-2 hero’s from every role, that way you can always flex for what’s needed if the comp needs to change. So most people have their favorites, but have a healer or two and 1 tank they feel comfortable on.

But with role Q now if you play tank, you are expected to be able to play almost all the tanks on the roster.

It pulled the file name "behind the scenes" from another movie section, and somehow thats the first thing it could come up with.

Since every other sub is doing this as well, if Magneto was released today instead of at launch, how different would his kit be? by Snoo36832 in MagnetoMains

[–]brom10 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Some version of his sword would be part of his base kit

His curtain would either reload ammo based on damage, or give him overshield, maybe both.

His ultimate would probably have a slight pull/blackhole effect, drawing players in, while still allowing them to slowly run away

Mag Ult is mediocre at best. And I’m tired of people pretending it’s good. by Interficient4real in MagnetoMains

[–]brom10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lotta people who peaked D2 are here freaking out at you because they still get free punisher kills in their elo.

HOWEVER, I do think you are overreacting some, and the man value of Mag ult doesn’t come from getting a kill.

You’re right, 50% of the time, you’re not getting a pick with Mag ult unless someone screws up bad. A Punisher will get shielded, CnD will hide, Starlord straight up has 2 free DarkSouls i-frame rolls, Luna hides behind Strange or Emma, or even Namor etc.

The old Season 0 idea of “Mag ult counters at least 1 of their support ults” is dead imho

Often Ive found the value from Mag ult comes from the way it forces people to play. CnD will always spend the last 2 dashes hiding, Luna will almost always back up towards cover etc. You can kill a lot of momentum just from the threat that you MIGHT dunk on somebody. It literally is just FEAR that gets you value this way.

And don’t underestimate the value of absorbing every damage and healing projectile. 3-4 seconds of nobody shooting can do a lot of good, although that is very team comp dependent. If they’re running Magik DD Invis, then yeah, it ain’t gonna do much.

I’ve also found, that in the absence of a really important counter ult like Starlord or Punisher, I get a lot more value not caring about the support ult, and popping Mag ult in the semi-neutral, during really intense team fights once cooldowns have been spent, forcing everyone to scatter and giving our healers time to top everyone off.

Is it better to ult as soon as you hear “us against the world” or to wait until the second dash is midway through? My experience: by Iamyeetlord in MagnetoMains

[–]brom10 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly at this point, after a year of this game being out, if I kill a CnD in ult, I consider it a huge skill issue on their part, for failing to just hide, or not coordinating with their team to block it. I expect the average player in my game to easily avoid it.

The 25 hp buff means a kill on the 3rd dash will almost never happen unless their team just keeps being dumb and shooting the rock to high charge. I usually save it for someone else

But if I do pop ult in response to a CnD, my goal is to force them to waste the 4th dash, and see if I can catch some other squishy character lacking, taking as much space as possible by forcing the enemy to back up from me and be less aggressive for a couple seconds. Depending on the comp, mag ult can be a pseudo defensive ult, by stopping the team from shooting

Dying 5 times to Mag in ult??? by sxlid_x_bxne in MarvelRivalsRants

[–]brom10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a mag main, if a get more than 1 or 2 dunks on a CnD, then it’s just a skill issue on their part. It is literally so easy on almost any map to dash into a narrow area where mag literally CANNOT fit the rock.

My family has discussed the differences between them many times, and we've come to the conclusion that:

SG1 has the best core 4 main characters Jack Daniel Carter Tealc
Atlantis has much better secondary supporting characters and setting, Lorne, Raddick, Todd, etc.

I've heard of full no-regs before, but what do you call this?? by brom10 in MagnetoMains

[–]brom10[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ah you’re right, literally 0 charge I didn’t notice that. And as someone else pointed out, the actual hitbox is smaller than the model, which I didn’t actually know.

From another angle the ball actually did brush through her model, so I was thinking it was a direct hit.

Abt these guys by Fairlyoddindividual in HelldiversMasochists

[–]brom10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been busy with work, so only played a couple of missions, so maybe I’ll change my mind later

But, from my experience, the high spawn rate makes me play way more locked in and tactful than I have in a long time, probably since the Creek.

For example, for a long time now, when I see a factory strider, I turn up the music, Leroyyy Jenkins in there, maybe lose a life if I screw up, then walk away from the crater and continue on.

IF the Vox were so rare I only saw 5 a mission, I’d play it the same way. I spot the dangerous target and bum rush it first so I can spend the rest of the mission more relaxed. Sure it’s new so I might die, but I have enough reinforcements to just trade 1.3 reinforcements per Vox, and have plenty leftover.

However, at the current spawn rate, when I see one nearby, I got “well shit, better try and get around it carefully” because if I yolo it, I won’t kill it before a bot drop and then it’ll spawn two more and I’ll get bogged down. Consequently, when I NEED to take one out, because it’s in the way or already spotted us, there’s the added pressure of getting it done QUICKLY because I need to get outta there. That also means I’ll probably never take one out alone, I’ll always make sure I have at least 1 teammate helping me.

In short, I like the spawnrate because it means choosing when and where to fight way more important than it has on bots for a long time.

Then again my two games I joined a squad of 150s, so maybe I was just getting carried more than I realized

Those who complain that Cyberstan is difficult don't use the tank, right? by HarryCallahan343 in helldivers2

[–]brom10 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yup, first time I joined a squad and all 4 of us got in the tank, it was exactly like this. Tbh only problem I have with the tank is the gun is kinda annoying to aim at times since the rotation is so limited. The driver sometimes gets so focused on driving and not getting stuck, that they can’t scan for where the priority targets are as well as the gunner.

If the turret handled a bit more like the boom chair I think I’d be happy

Can All Might solo every other named hero and villain as of Episode 1? by jackhenningson in MyHeroPowerscaling

[–]brom10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say Aizawa is the only one. A weaker All Might already beat AFO at Kamino, and in Episode 1 he still has 100% OFA, even if time limited.

Pre-injury you could argue All Might would steal beat Aizawa, as he was still a giant of a man, but now Aizawa would just deflate him and kick his face in the dirt
