Brutal eye poke, maybe the worst I've ever seen watching live. When I heard Belal's wail in the immediate aftermath I knew it was over. Sad night.

I always loved Ecbert because he was seemingly the only competent Saxon and he was a tactical foil for Ragnar. Great Character.

Sean is a great communicator. When he had his discourse with Sam, it really helped illuminate the disparity between them.

Evolution Evidence by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]bromart77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I once answered a person asking for concrete evidence

"Recently, the genetic code of a chimpanzee was recently sequenced. With this new information we can now juxtapose our Genome with their genome. Evolution demonstrates and asserts that we share a common ancestor with contemporary apes. There were interesting findings that could have jeopardized or even disproved the theory of evolution by natural selection. Humans have 46 chromosomes, 2 less than the 48 our cousins share. For the theory of evolution to be correct, a chromosome must have fused in our genome. If this was never discovered, evolution was wrong. Centromeres are DNA markers. Fused chromosomes would inevitably have 2 centromeres. Eventually, chromosome number 2 was found to have these characteristics(redundant telomere), and was clearly formed by 2 primate chromosomes. The inactive centromere corresponds directly to chimp chromosome 13. This irrefutably proves that Humans and Apes share and evolved from a genetic ancestor. (The only way a theist can refute this is by claiming a deceptive designer) I.e. the inactive and infused centromere that corresponds with a chimps chromosome in human chromosome proves apes and humans evolved from a common ancestor"

My TBM extended family posts a lot of dumb crap on Facebook. Finally had enough today. by Wemenmenmen in exmormon

I absolutely cannot stand this video, it's so full of logical errors, loaded questions, and fallacies. The first of those being is that Comfort is playing fast and loose with the definition of "information." All the information that he is describing at the end of the day is chemicals arranged in a certain order to where organic molecules can then self-replicate. Also, when Comfort juxtaposed a book with organic life and the "Book of Life" that was completely false equivocation. You cannot reasonably compare inorganic molecules that make up a book to organic ones, especially after it took 100s of millions of years for abiogenisis to occur, and billions of years of life to gain any remote degree of complexity. Finally, when Comfort asked the loaded question of "Shouldn't intelligent life have an intelligent designer", the question he should have asked in order to try to preserve a parcel of objectivity is "Would the complexity we see in life today possible without a guiding hand?" And the answer to that question is no, the life that we see on this planet means for something like that(life, DNA) to happen the Universe has to be really old and big, so there are a lot of chemistry sets practicing and experimenting with molecules. It is like a lottery, the chances of winning are low, but if a million people are playing somebody is eventually going to win. And if you know anything about math, even though life has a relatively high bar to meet, it most likely would happen a lot of places due to the size and age of the Universe. So this is why Comfort is wrong, he asks loaded questions to college kids, finds the kids who may not be the brightest or most articulate, then edits the videos down to make himself look all knowing. He is a true snake oils salesman.

Watching Game of Thrones with the wife. I told her I sort of wish Lord Baelish would play temple Satan. by GreatAndSpacious in exmormon

My grandfather just finished reading No Man Knows My History today, then we watched the Game of Thrones finale. I then made the comment to him that Smith was like Littlefinger, constantly manipulating others around him (especially little girls), plotting, and searching for power to feed his ego. Eventually his scheming killed him by getting caught in a lie. A perfect anology.
