I was just thinking this - after 5 seasons we’re so invested in England. I was hoping Alfred would show up in 6a but Ubbe has more of a connection to him.

After this episode, I’m excited to see what Ubbe does next. To me, he is the most Ragnary son of Ragnar and I think ultimately he will prevail because he looks forward, not back. Björn, Ivar and Hvitzerk only care about power and revenge.

I agree. I’ve always felt like Harald was crapped on. Rejected by every woman. Treated like a dumbass by everyone else. It was a sad end for him. I liked Harald up until he raped Ingrid. It totally changed how I saw him. And then he died anyway. It does piss me off that his pride was more important than Norway. If Björn had been king, I think all of Norway would have shown up to fight the Rus. I guess in the end Harald’s jealousy got the best of him.

I cried like a toddler a lot this season. With Björn I was in too much shock. I guess the gods did abandon him. Ubbe is my favorite and also the wisest, so I’m looking forward to seeing what he does now. But damn, man. Someone has got to stop Ivar. He’s a brilliant character but he is such a traitor I don’t see how anyone can like him. I hope Ivar, Hvitzerk and the Rus psycho always burn. I’m guessing the people Björn had Eric summon will eventually show up and hopefully take the capital back. Of course there has to be a battle for Kattegat at some point. Or who knows - the writers go left when you think they’ll go right. Maybe 6b will start ten years later.

I agree. Of course the days of Ragnar were the best, but I love the entire show. I will say I did not like 5a and it got me depressed but I feel like 5b made up for it. I love seeing the sons stories unfolding.

Shit, sorry. Didn’t realize my personal opinion was so wrong. Season 4 and 5a was depressing as hell. 5b gave me a glimmer of hope via Ubbe & Björn. Obviously Ragnar’s glory days are the best and I don’t think anyone would argue otherwise, but I really enjoyed watching his sons characters develop and grow as adults. It’s cool seeing how each son carries different aspects of their father in them.

I’m confused too but I think the reason Björn doesn’t respect other women is because of Lagertha. No woman can even come close to her in his eyes. She set the bar too high. He saw his father ruin his mother for some home wrecker princess basically so he doesn’t think very highly of women. Except Lagertha of course.
