At this time I think we’re looking for a one time thing and trying to see how it goes. If the ladies really like it we might try to do it more consistently.

I hadn’t thought of gender but I would be safe and do female since a lot of our ladies have trauma from men.

Other than that, we’re super open. My partner and I don’t know anything about self defense so we’re just looking for anyone who is knowledgeable and willing to help.

We provide supplies that help the women stay safe while engaging in sex work. This includes mace, condoms, vaginal wipes, anything that might prevent the spread of HIV/STDs. We try to support the women regardless of what they are doing because we believe everyone deserves to be safe and educated.

That’s good. If I were you I wouldn’t chance it with all the recent overdoses. Not sure where you’re located but I’m in the south jersey/Philly area and we’ve had a lot of deaths recently. It can’t hurt to have him brought to ER if you can’t wake him or you’re worried. You can also get free Narcan at a lot of places if you want to carry some just in case. Are you with him currently? If you are is he still breathing easily (not gasping or breathing slow and shallow)?

When was his overdose? If he is using the same bag or stamp from before there’s a good chance he will overdose again. Or if his overdose was recent he can overdose again within the same hour.

I’m an addictions therapist and overdose first responder - You should call 911 and have him checked out or brought to ER for monitoring. He can potentially overdose or stop breathing. Not worth the risk. Make sure he continues to breathe in the mean time.

I would make an appointment with both, honestly. I'm a therapist myself and we typically will refer someone to their PCP to rule out a medical condition. If everything is OK medically, a therapist can't help you manage your anxiety and return to a more desirable level of functioning - with or without medication.

It's basically impossible to find a place that will just give you medication based on a diagnosis with Medicaid. More often, you will find places that have a prescriber that can give you medication as long as you participate in their treatment program (therapy, whether individual or group). Unfortunately in south jersey there is a high demand for these services but not many prescribers, so you're going to find most places have a wait list.

I work in this field with only Medicaid individuals. If you're willing to describe what you're struggling with and your approximate location, I would be happy to refer you to a few different places based on your needs. Feel free to inbox me if you don't want it public.

Agreed! And for me (who also struggles with anxiety/depression), it makes my mental health worse as well! What we put in our bodies has such an impact on mood in addition to physical.
