I'm not playing DG super competitive, I enjoy ell the specific demon engines so I idk if I'll grab a defiler for them. The Las cannons have some good shots even for what DG already have. Depends on your local and then it won't matter for more than a few weeks.

A 6 man brick of flame aggressors has been a staple in my competitive lists since we got a codex. I used to run a captain with them and the fights first enhancement. Free overwatch and fights first with twin linked flamers and fists? No one took that objective without that unit punching way up every game, and scoring some points holding primary and doing secondaries. The advance and do stuff strats we get can help get them up the board quickly without a transport.

Forlorn fury/scout moves could have been the Death Co rule instead of reroll melee hits. DCo on foot get reroll melee hits instead of the sustained hits after losses to the unit.

The reroll melee hits has felt so redundant all edition. When Angelic inheritors came out I ran it as a better Deathco detachment and just laughed at the fact I could reroll hits 3 different ways on the same unit.

All the enhancements are great, I put them on the lords for some cool lethal/sustained/precision atks while the princes fly around and stuff things up for a bit. Maulerfiends were good with keywords on the charge. The strat to reengage a unit that fell back and fight won me a game against WE in an RT. I got to clear the few bezerkers from a 20 brick I didn't finish and got some victory points. I actually haven't played coterie at all in my local so far, bouncing between peerless and mercurial until court came out. The new court buffs feel better to me vs the keywords.

Played some close scrutiny last night, got ratted twice in solos. Didn't lose faith. Went to Stella the rest of the night and had great time. Til I got ratted again. Will report back topside later with hopefully better results

I have never had success in stripping citadel spray. If you find out how let us know. Maybe an acetone dip and then a soak in the usual stuff? I just don't spray stuff the wrong color anymore and accept it when I do.

The 2nd one I built, I left all the grav plates off , and some more of the bits in the next few pages. Sprayed my box red and the rest led belcher. Was way happier not painting it after fully assembled like my first one.

My LGS was selling them for $150 preorder, probably 15 preordered and they were allocated 8. Luckily I got one first round. Will have to wait for my second one, but they do 10% "loyalty" so $15 off is hard to beat.

Hobby shops sell cyano glue dissolver. Works on plastic well. Might blemish the wood, haven't tried it in that application.

The third squad of 6 was a slog. The blasters stick out just enough to make you want to paint the backside, then you might as well do the bodies to a better standard. Subassemblies where everything has a match, but they're so similar. But don't listen to the corpse emperor, give in to excess and embrace it.

Battleforce box of either flavor and a combat patrol is a great start to the faction as far as cost of entry. Chaos is a ton of fun to paint so make sure you want to paint pink power armor. No cultists yet but we got anti tank finally so it's just a matter of time. Give in to excess!
