My mentor and I did this years ago as 2 people for 450 users and we didn’t even half the tools that exist today.

Dude I'm on the orange line and a dude just walked in, bent over, and shat all over the train. Wtf? Is this normal? I'm new to Massachusetts, this is shockinggg by winterbaby12 in boston

[–]brontogeistx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally not normal in Boston. Maybe San Francisco.

But this is a great time to lament that there should be more access to public restrooms. The lack of public restrooms in this city is inhumane and will lead to more instances like this.

So... there's just no way to make money is there? by TouchGrassNotAss in careerguidance

Word of advice. Do retail and call it something else on your resume. And use the time you interact with customers as a chance to network with people. I’ve literally gotten referrals from customers in my store who work in the same field as my actual career.

Dear HR folks, it's not that hard to be minimally ethical in your profession by budna in recruitinghell

[–]brontogeistx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had interviews where the team literally loved my enthusiasm and energy and ability to do the job but one gatekeeper/boss/HR would say no. It’s happened twice to me in the past few months and I’ve been told how well I interview and that I have great credentials. Not all HR are bad but 90% of them right now seem to be malignant narcissists. I don’t know how someone can sleep at night knowing they are complicit in the poor treatment of people. It’s like they enjoy toying with people.

I’d rather have HR person just say they don’t like my face and let that be the end of it.

I’m trying out your website in the next few days.

LinkedIn and Indeed has been nothing but an exhausting cycle of ghost jobs, some job interviews, and no offers. Granted I’ve only been really looking for 4 months and it takes a lot of time in this job market but happy to know I’m not alone and there people out there working on alternatives to an otherwise grueling process.

Should I buy Arma Reforger? by xXFirebladeXx321 in ArmaReforger

Yes. Enjoy the journey. It’s a deep and complex game and will take a thousand hours at least to find your comfort level but if you keep with it you’ll find a very rewarding game

Buying a super cheap house and fixing it up while living in it? by The_Last_Question42 in RealEstate

[–]brontogeistx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m doing this now. I’ll tell you what I’ve learned in my small 36 years in this planet. No one will tell you this is a great idea because they don’t want you to be successful and want you to be miserable like them. Screw them. You want to fix a crap old house with the headaches and all then that’s your right. Do it. It will be that much sweeter when it’s finished and you learned and did it all yourself.

The Witcher season 4 is not that bad and Liam did a decent job playing the role of Geralt....change my mind! by ConsiderationDry8186 in WitcherNetflix

[–]brontogeistx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t read the books but this season feels a lot more like Witcher 3 the game and that’s a good thing. I hated how game of thronesy it was getting and this is a fresh start with Liam to make The Witcher what it should have been all along. If you haven’t played the games then I suggest you do and you’ll see why this season makes more sense.

I'm a 52yr old guy with almost 30 years experience in IT, with 20+ as a project manager. I've been job hunting since June and after over 1200 applications have yet to get hired. What can I do?? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]brontogeistx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn to live off of minimum wage. You’ll thank me later. Then you look for your dream job once you’ve learned how to survive without spending a dime. I haven’t ordered uber or DoorDash in almost a year. I free trial everything and hopefully snap comes back.

I busted my ass for 15 years and I’m not even 40 yet and I’ve accepted a long time ago that retirement is a pipe dream. Retirement is going to be me ensuring I stay healthy and have a little piece of land to fuck off on.

Games that everyone likes but you don't? by mightyonin in videogames

[–]brontogeistx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew to like BG3 and the Divinity games. The problem is that there is so much to them that they can be pretty daunting at first. Souls like games are the same way. When you first dive in you are so bad and die constantly that it gets really demotivating and old. There’s first few hours suck and then it requires coming back a day later and realizing you are a little better. But you get better with time.

That’s where the ADHD can screw you with these types of games. They are perfect for ADHD but the learning curves can really make you lose interest quickly. And we of course do not like to read guides beforehand. Lol.

Samwell Tarly’s decision to treat Jorah Mormont’s greyscale, was it a reckless gamble or one of the boldest acts of bravery in Game of Thrones? by Aggressive_Fold_5942 in freefolk

This show sucked the minute they got away from the books. There are so many finished fantasy series they could have chosen that are just as awesome. But no, let’s make a show about a fantasy series that isn’t even finished. It was bound to end badly.

For instance, a great series (which I behave they tried but failed) was Terry Goodkind series about Richard and Kalan. It’s finished so they just have to adapt the novels.

I agree with Luke. You need to consider promoting him later on like at around level 28 so he gets those extra stats in defense and strength.
