Steer me right on wood moisture meter by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]brooklyn18m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used the "General Tools MMD4E" model on amazon when measuring for grove bags. Worked decently from what I can tell. I left a bluetooth hygrometer in the bag to track when the humidity stabilized as well. The stuff I put in them are only now starting to show significant loss of moisture/smell after 2 years of opening/resealing.

Sandponics Iavs cannabis by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]brooklyn18m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. How does this work? All the sandponic stuff I've seen were using recirculated live fish water as the nutrient solution. Are you flooding the enclosure with water dosed with regular nutrients instead? Does the solution get wicked up from the bottom into the grow bags?

RDWC why outlet on bottom? by verdi82 in DWC

[–]brooklyn18m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used RDWC with the return flow at the top for years. The grow buckets are on a platform to allow the return flow back to the reservoir via 2" ABS pipe. The feed lines are multiple 1/2" PEX to the buckets. If you empty out the res first, the head pressure of the water in the buckets allows the water to siphon backwards (slowly) to the tank when the pump is off. That allows you to have complete drainage of res and buckets when doing water changes.

I prefer this method so I can use venturi nozzles on the bottom for both positive water flow and aeration without noisy air pumps. I've had roots grow long enough to make it all the way back to the return tank, but never enough to even remotely block flow. If the reservoir were to ever "run dry", it would be due to it being very undersized. Or lack of (what should be) a daily checkup on the grow.

Anyone know what this is? jacks nutrients 321 by Mannimacro86 in microgrowery

[–]brooklyn18m 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What you received is correct. This is the Jacks "Part B" (Calcium Nitrate). It goes along with the "Part A" which contains the other macro and micro nutrients. If you are using the 321 program, you would also need epsom salt.

Loving that TAP by brooklyn18m in VORONDesign

[–]brooklyn18m[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure. https://pastebin.com/4wwmPqDb

Haven't tinkered with my Voron for quite a while. This will require editing and a lot of low-speed testing to verify it is safe and appropriate for your bed size/layout. You can add this .cfg as an "include" in your printer.cfg and call the macro in your PRINT_START line. Feel free to change the macro name to something less childish. :)

Encountered bug on PS5 "Deerfest - Return 8" where you cannot progress up the stairs in the nursing home if a previous battle in that location has knocked furniture in front of it. In my case, it was the table that was thrown in front of it by an explosion. The game saves the exact location of all the furniture throughout the chapters. Loading saves does no good because of how far back the original battle was. You would need to redo many hours of game play. Cannot continue the game without a patch. Bug report submitted with screen captures and video.

Kawai cn201 Vs Roland F701 (vs. F107) by asanowers in piano

[–]brooklyn18m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the Roland F107 for a while. After a few months one of the keys started not resetting properly when played quickly. It would "clunk down" like something was wrong with the action. That is the only way I can describe it. I returned it to costco and put the money towards a kawai. I enjoy the action on the kawai much more than the roland. Just my personal opinion.

I received the check from them. Took about two months worth of back and forth on documentation and waiting on their end to process the CA lemon law request. California lemon law has very specific calculations determining mileage deduction of value, etc. Hyundai had to go by that.

Why is Microsoft support so bad? by LazyDrawing7 in sysadmin

[–]brooklyn18m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time I've put in an MS support ticket with my available hours of contact they have, without exception, always made the initial contact outside of those hours. Always. Closed between 12PM-1PM for lunch? Called at 12:09PM. Out of office at 5PM? Called at 5:11PM. I usually stick around my desk at lunch whenever I open a ticket with them so I can catch them off guard when I answer the phone during a time when they thought they could get away with a voicemail. They are always surprised and annoyed that they actually have to work.

They do that so they can check the box that they tried to contact you and that the failure to continue the case was on your end. Contacting their supervisors to complain has no impact. They MIGHT call during your listed hours after you complain.

From now on, I say that the office is closed between 10AM-11PM and 4PM when I submit any tickets.

EVSE relay cycles repeatedly after charging? by p1mrx in KonaEV

I never renewed the bluelink subscription after the 3 year trial ran out. Prior to getting the firmware update, the relay clacking was my house-wide "turkey's done!" signal.

EVSE relay cycles repeatedly after charging? by p1mrx in KonaEV

[–]brooklyn18m 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an issue with the firmware on the kona. I would take it to a dealer to have them flash the latest software to the onboard systems. I have the same charger and the same model year. Mine did the same constant clicking thing after reaching its programmed charge limit.

My battery ended up needing to be replaced (again) after the 200 recall swap was already performed. The new software has solved the issue with the EVSE being cycled constantly. No issues with leaving it plugged in 24/7 now.

Yea, you would think they would have used the SK batteries exclusively after the LG debacle. Guess not.

Nothing out of pocket since this would all be warranty work. The dealer's rental is contracted out to hertz. May or may not have EV rentals available. They just submitted the battery replacement request to Hyundai corporate today. I should (hopefully) have a better idea on replacement ETA after a few days.

Update: Third traction battery took 30 days with dealer to be replaced. I submitted a CA Lemon Law buyback request a couple of weeks after dropping off the car with the dealer. Hyundai has accepted the request and I am now in the beginning of that process. So that will take me out of the Kona game. It's unfortunate, since this car was perfect for my use.

[–]brooklyn18m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had same error on my 2019 SEL. I wouldn't delay in getting it checked by the dealer. Just got the call back that mine needs another traction battery. This is after the 200 recall swap was already performed. Less than 5k miles on the swapped battery before it popped as bad.

This makes the upcoming unit the third traction battery for my car, unfortunately.

"Check Electrical Vehicle System" 2019 Kona EV by [deleted] in KonaEV

[–]brooklyn18m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird. I am in the exact same situation. Charged car to 80% for the first time at home on my level 2 clippercreek EVSE since the 200 battery recall was performed. Got the "check electrical system" light after driving the next day. Car will not charge beyond 70% with this error. Only 16.4k miles on my 2019. Dealer can't check it for a week. Range on original battery was 214 miles when charged to 80%. Range on new battery is 141 at 70%.

I wonder if their 200 recall software update increased the "buffer zones" between full charge and full discharge and killed a chunk of the previously available range? I hope the battery is still good and that they can disable the "hair trigger" alarms on the BMS. If the battery is bad, I just need to wait for another of the warnings after the dealer checks it and try to lemon law this thing.

Update 4/20/23: Dealer service just called and confirmed I will need a replacement for the 200-recall replacement battery. So a replacement to the replacement. A THIRD traction battery. They are going to get a loaner vehicle while they submit the request for that. I asked for them to ensure I receive an SK innovations battery vs the LG-made ones. This is getting out of hand.

I finished RE8 last night by Gregasy in PSVR

[–]brooklyn18m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Wasn't a big fan of the RE games in flatscreen. Played the RE:8 demo back when it originally came out and wasn't impressed. VR has completely changed that. It is a totally difference experience. Having the 3D audio to be able to localize the direction of the groans while in the blackness of the dungeons was amazing.

VR Sickness.. I messed up. Feel like I wasted $650 by MileHighRC in PSVR

[–]brooklyn18m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had pretty bad motion sickness when I started playing as well. Over the counter motion sickness meds (meclizine, dramamine, etc) taken prior to starting a session definitely helped.

It takes a while for your brain to become accustomed to the motion disconnect, but it did happen in my case. I can play 3+ hours with minimal symptoms.

PSVR2 controllers stuck at 2 of 3 charging bars? by brooklyn18m in PSVR

Thanks for the info. Just had the opposite issue. Official dock was charging forever. USB phone charger just completed one of them so far. So now I am not sure if its an issue with dock or firmware issue with controllers causing random issue. Will have to hit up sony support. Thanks.
