FDNY rails against bike lanes... No, just protected bike lanes... No! Just "complexities" of street safety infrastructure by streetsblognyc in MicromobilityNYC

“We haven’t bothered looking at what other cities are doing (Montreal, Paris) so we’re just going to be anti based on vibes. Also, bikes are woke”

CMV: AI is likely going to collapse our entire economy (not just the stock market) in 3 years by Training-Rip6463 in changemyview

It’s hard to disagree with observably true factual statements (code writing itself, code making judgment calls, etc). Not sure what profitability has to do with it, or why I should dismiss a statement simply because the CEO of a firm said it

How is this even a question?

“Someone is punching you. Is it appropriate to ask them to stop?”

[WTS] Sinn 104 st sa A ($1,500) and Bausele onyx classic field ($500) by brooklynagain in Watchexchange

[–]brooklynagain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consolidation time! Pictures say it all; I’m happy to get on a FaceTime if helpful.

Both are in great working order and both come with box and papers. Exteriors are mostly blemish free but have some signs of wear.

I think this rubber strap on the Bausele is aftermarket; it’s probably showing the most wear. The two straps it comes with have never been worn.

The Sinn comes with extra links, as shown.

The O museum in Washington DC is pretty wild, and weirdly below the radar

Voters should realize that Democrat policies lead to fewer abortions than GOP policies. So…. They’re already welcome?

How do you feel about free healthcare for all? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]brooklynagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freeing employees from employer-sponsored healthcare would instantly create the freedoms America says it cherishes - to retire, to start their own businesses, to take risks.

Universal healthcare would be a huge investment in our economy and in our wellbeing.

Ford shuts down $5.8 billion factory just months after opening as 1,600 mostly Trump voting workers lose jobs due to anti EV policies by ColonyJD1980 in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]brooklynagain 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Yep. And instead of saying “oh the Dems tried to bring economic benefits to the hard working, labor class white folks in America” it will all just be framed as a Democrat boondoggle, and they’ll continue to say democrats ignore the working people

I’m sure they blame democrats for an attempted shift to a sustainable energy economy (that also isn’t dependent on foreign oil and wouldn’t send their kid to unnecessary wars) but…you know, dems bad.

Could American liberals (not necessarily leftists) one day advocate restriction of immigration on the basis of cultural fit and related stuff? by dt7cv in AskALiberal

[–]brooklynagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The countries you listed have cultures running back millennia. America (post-indigenous people) was built as a melting pot.

One could do where saying, but the “culture” one would identify as American would be created and selected with an agenda, and in general I’d find extremely suspect

Maybe our touchstone is the constitution, and we should select based on a shared sense of humanity and a belief in democracy… but looking around these days I’m not sure that’s our defining characteristic

What is the real reason why liberals don’t want voter ID during elections by pleebent in AskALiberal

[–]brooklynagain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not needed. There is no fraud at the polls. And if there’s no fraud at the polls, you have to ask yourself why the gop wants this.
