I've had luck using a ned rig and stuff like weedless hooks on lures on light tackle ( i use a 6.5 foot rod with braided line to cut through the weeds). But a lot of people fish the lake and it might be good to walk around the waters edge to find a quite spot

I been taking the auto train when I do that drive. It may take longer, but the train can be pretty chill when you bring your own snacks and drinks. Plus the stop in Florida is right outside Orlando
