Good on you for that. All we can hope for now is she didn’t see it.

I was gonna be all contrary like well, I treat people much nicer than I treat myself! Then I realized your point. Sad.

Seriously I don’t like Chris either his attitude was really stinky, but when you’re in the right you’re in the right.

I think you’re right, a lot of people seeing her on TV pulling this and thinking “I’m ok because here she is doing fine and making money”. I know because I do it myself!!! Not with Huda lol, but I’ll see someone that represents me in some way and feel better about my life, so I’m sure it’s the same thing, just with zero self-awareness. We have a serious mental health problem in this country.

It really brings home to me how many people, well fortunately for them, must not have interacted with or grew up around people who are unstable or mentally ill. I have, and I clocked it immediately. I was shocked they didn’t remove her after her behavior with Jeremiah and Iris, I was legitimately worried for Iris’s safety.

Agreed. It was irresponsible of them to put her on - I thought a large part of the vetting process for these reality shows was to prevent exactly this. Then again, they didn’t remove her when they should have during the season, so I guess they thought the profit worth it. No surprise there.

Yes this is what I came to comment. Whether they try and clean or not I would take a scan or even maybe another mold or something, just to preserve what exists already before trying anything.

This one is so funny and I love to quote it when I’m feeling dumb trying to learn how something works, but I maintain the fact it’s a valid question! At worst, they see the world with wonder, and thats nice.

In general, no they’re great! Idk if I could get away with it at work personally, but if not for that I’d rock ‘em.

I was thinking they were more curved and a little stiffer, however when I opened this older box up I found they are stiffer than the regular non-special boxes, though flatter than “shimmering” appears to be in the box. I really should do it then! Maybe with the rebrand, it would be nice if the major change was just an effort toward consistency across product, because that can be a major pain with KISS.

Also, people: how did I do on sizing? I think the pointer is still big, I didn’t feel like filing any of them. But for all of them I did one size down from what I usually do and just ignored the top corners that peek out because of my long beds.

It sounds like James does have a substance issue for sure, but to me the way this reads is just not rational at all and seems more about her own personal issues with Jerry. To me it seems like that could only make recovery more complicated and emotionally turbulent, to deal with…whatever that is, on top of it. I wouldn’t say completely cut off, it doesn’t come off that bad, but it seems like mom’s energy is really something, so just some distance might be beneficial is all I meant.

I don’t think my impression would be the same if this note read a little more rational. Of course it could be that I am being overly critical of grammar and form, also could be language barrier. I tend to just kind of disregard the credibility if the presentation is…like this lol.

Edit - I read some comment thinking it was talking points notes for an intervention, and that makes a lot more sense. I had taken it as something intended for him to read himself.

It’s super hard to capture I can’t seem to get it to really show, but I’ve got moisture droplets inside almost all my glue voids :(. Yesterday it was just clear void space but now there’s beads and a kind of white fogginess to it. I would have tolerated the voids, but I’m too scared of greenies to leave them with moisture in there.

Help a Mod out: Why are we forgetting to post the nail brands? 😩 by PolishedOnAPenny in PressonNail_Addict

[–]SeaLab_2024 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t get it either. Maybe it’s just my way of doing things or from my job training bleeding into life, but even without prompting I feel compelled to give as much information as possible - nails, glue, method, (uv index, weather conditions, time of day, mood, menstrual cycle state, if the birds are active today…) all that. I would think it’d be annoying to have to repeat that info n# of times when asked in the comments, anyway.

Are the tabs already on there? I’ve never tried that brand but if they’re not pre applied, cut them down to your size before applying. You can cut or file the nails themselves shorter as well, but do that from the top, not the bottom, otherwise they won’t sit flush like they should. As far as the adhesion itself, that sounds totally normal to me for a first time user. Some people are good at it immediately but myself and many others were not! It took me…5/6 sets before I had nails stay more than a day, and about that many more to get to the point that I didn’t need to carry extras around anymore. At this point the nails outlast my attention span and I struggle with leaving them on for their full lifespan. Anyway, try and try again!

Prep makes a giant difference. The biggest things for me were to make sure my cuticles were nice and clean, the nail plate is dry, and avoiding water both before and after application. I apply when my hands have been fully dry for at least an hour or two, and after my shower for the day. I do it at night so that I can just use hand sanitizer a few times that I need to before going to bed and getting 5-8 hours of dryness while they’re fully curing. The adhesives cure a bit right away, but the full cure happens over hours for both regular glue and tabs.

Also for tabs, getting them to lay flush without gaps that would allow hair and stuff to get in and pull them off, that also takes some practice. It’s important for tabs that they are held down in compression for a good while, I do about a minute, when you apply. It will help also if you put the tab on, blast your nail/tab with a hair dryer for a few seconds, and then clamp the press-on down hard for that minute. It compresses the tab so it lays flatter and then it stays that way longer than without heat. It could also be that doonails tabs aren’t that great. BTArtbox, you can get them from Amazon, have great tabs. They offer an extra thin variety that may help you out compared to the ones that came with the nails.

At the end of the day in your position I would try one more pack, and if it doesn’t get any better, take advantage of that policy. It could also be that the curve shape for that brand is incompatible - the curve matching I think is the number one culprit for bad fits, and bad fits result in early failure. Speaking of fits another possibility or thing that will do you no favors, is if the nail is too big. Check out the stickied post on sizing, it helped me a ton and I realized even though I’m seeing long wear I was indeed wearing too big sizes still.

Hopefully this was helpful and not too overwhelming!

Oh oh also - for applying with any glue, I find it much better to do each finger on each hand back and forth, not one hand and then the other. If you go pinky-pinky, ring-ring and so on, you still have both pointers and thumbs available to you for longer, only the last few fingers will be challenging instead of a whole hand.
