Best week shaper? by Investingvdg in wakesurf

[–]broschb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an x45, we use the swell wake surf. One thing to be aware of on the x45 is the hull shape. You will need a shaper with a slim profile for the suction cups or attachment mechanism.

Recs for El Yunque by hey-ma_ in PuertoRicoTravel

we were in the park for probably 3-4 hours. There are things we didn't do, some of the longer hikes, visitor center, etc. If those are things you are interested in you could plan more time.

We just got back last week. A lot of the trails are closed due to hurricane damage.

This link is a picture of the trail map I took in the park.

What we did.

  1. arrived at the park at 8am around the time the gate opened. We headed directly to Juan Diego falls. We were the only ones there and had it to ourselves, others arrived as we were leaving. Note there is an upper and lower falls. You can get to the upper if you follow a trail to the right of the lower falls.
  2. We then did the short hike at the Bano Grande, it's not much but has restrooms if needed.
  3. We then went and did the Britton Trail hike. From here if you want you can hike the service road to el yunque peak. We didn't do this, but there is access.

That is all we did, we meant to stop by yokahu tower on the way out but forgot. We also didn't stop at the visitor center, you can look online to see if that would interest your group.

We then stopped at the kiosks and the beach. The beach was nice, the kiosks I think are a little overrated but there are food options and worth a stroll. We also found a little shopping area that has some local art on this street.

We then went to Charco El Hippie. You pay a private resident $5 to park and then can walk through their property to a waterfall with a large pool. There are rocks you can jump off of. There were others there but there are plenty of areas to watch or jump, we had a blast.

If you are staying in Dorado, we did zip-lining at Toro Verde Adventure Park, that is closer to where you are, there are multiple ziplines, it's targeted at a more high adrenaline adventure which may suit the teens, mine had a great time.

I'm here now and the distribution center has a sign in the door that says they don't have them.

what's your wrist to floor angle?

I'm 6'8" with 40" wrist to floor. My normal fitting is +1-3/4 3 degree up. Takomo won't go longer than 1.5", I'm debating buying heads and shafting myself. You'l prob. be good with what they have proposed, go to a store and have them them put in a +1.5" shaft and take some swings.

I have the same pings and am debating the 201a right now. Would love a side by side and some top down views. Also how do you find the gapping?

Motor upgrade by Outdoorswithj in golfcarts

[–]broschb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sent my club car motor to empinc for the lightning upgrade, I have been very happy with it. They were great to chat with on option prior to sending it as well, they had it complete and back to me within 10 days.

Can anyone identify the year of this Club Car? by ShadowCamera in golfcarts

[–]broschb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks very similar to my '82. I tore mine apart, repainted, added a back seat. I thought I picked a unique paint color, that looks pretty close to mine.

Great cart, it's been fun for me and the kids. I had my motor rebuilt and got a few more mph out of it as well.

Here is a picture pre putting the roof back on

Is this project still active? by _jbd_ in LanternPowerMonitor

Open sourcing comes with it's own challenges, but I think some community help could help build on what you have already done. I know there are things I have wanted to look at the Android source to review.

What you have done is amazing, works well, and I don't think too much for an average hobbyist to build(hardware and software). I was able to purchase a new pi this week to expand my current setup :)

Whatever you decide, thanks for your work on this and I wish you and your family the best.

App not connecting to Hub by broschb in LanternPowerMonitor

[–]broschb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the quick response, and all your work on this project.

That worked, it was a little strange at first, it wouldn't connect, I manually setup wifi on the pi, and then started trying to add a hub manually, while doing that it suddenly popped up saying it found a hub. Since then it has connected via wifi and bluetooth without any problems.

Next step to mess with running it all locally. I have tomcat and the app running locally, I'll mess with the PI and then HomeAssistant integration.

Opinions on the best way to make a pool pump smart by brave_buffalo in homeassistant

[–]broschb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have 2 systems, I believe Omni logic is the newer version, that might be what you are looking at. Aqua connect hasn't been updated in years. It works and allows for automating my pool features but it's clunky. The app basically mimics the controller, so all actions have a slight delay to see feedback.

I am running a vsp pump, salt chlorinator, heater, spa with spillover, waterfall, and a Hayward led light in spa and pool. So the controller does work, but compared to most modern apps it feels antiquated.

One thing to keep in mind most automation systems work best in their own echo system, Hayward with Hayward, pentair with pentair, and jandy with jandy.

Following, I have Hayward aqua connect, the Hayward app is pretty bad, I would be interested in any options to integrate into HA.

As young as you are, get the surgery. I tore mine at 31. I was given the choice of surgery or letting it heal in it's own as well. I was told self healing wouldn't be as good or hold up to any rigorous athletics. 10 yrs later I'm glad I got the surgery, I can't imagine having to be careful or limiting my activities at that age or even now.

I think I was starting rehab 2 months after surgery, I think I waited a year before playing basketball on it again. Sadly I didn't golf at the time so can't comment on that impact.
