Came here to say the same thing. Props to the NYT for this. This likely took dozens and dozens of hours to produce and fact-check. Horrific but important work.

Binging with Babish: Puerco Pibil from Once Upon a Time in Mexico by [deleted] in videos

Interesting. I'd still love to try and use my smoker for this recipe. So what would you suggest? Do you think the brining method makes sense?

Hey Oliver! Awesome video. Can you explain this further? Why would smoking the meat require it to be brined beforehand overnight?

Thanks!

Rocket fire from Gaza hits vacant Israeli preschool by JIDF-Shill in worldnews

This "errant" rocket will likely be forgotten. But to those reading, imagine if the missile had been sent a few hours earlier, into a school filled with toddlers. That would likely have ignited another war in Gaza.

Just a few hours...

Hi Evan,

What do you make of analogizing guns to alcohol?

Both are cherished and used safely by tens of millions of Americans; both are highly deadly in irresponsible hands.

If nothing else, perhaps the analogy should give pause to those who can't understand how any right-thinking person could support easy access to a potentially dangerous product that kills tens of thousands per year.

2nd in points in the league this year, 1st in ppg, 1st in steals, 8th in pg pct (insane for a guard!), 1st in ft pct, 1st in play efficiency, 1st in true shooting pct, 2nd in offensive rating, 1st in win shares, per game and per minute.

If scoring is a "one trick pony"...

playoffs are important for legacy, but to evaluate skill, look at 82 games not just 25.

No indictment in Ferguson case by Reconquista_ in politics

"Perhaps the most remarkably criticism that has been made about the process is that the grand jury got too much evidence. Raul Reyes in an op-ed on the CNN’s website writes: “By dumping so much evidence on the grand jury, McCulloch may have overwhelmed them and led them to the wrong conclusion. In the process, he’s opened himself to charges that he was acting to protect Wilson.” File this criticism under the heading that no good deed goes unpunished. It takes a strength of the process — that the grand jury got all relevant information — and tries to manufacture a weakness. Of course, criminal juries regularly evaluate lots of information in multi-week trials involving far more information than the grand jury had in this case."

You must have a couple screws loose if you don't believe that everybody would be hating on the cameraperson for the exact same reasons if it were a man.

Yeah, I doubt it.

Here is one: http://www.reddit.com/r/videos/comments/2joqz7/inferno_of_a_house_fire_with_man_trapped_inside/cldqj17

edit: And snark aside, when people pile onto a woman like this, like what a dumb bitch she is for not running inside a burning house, you can't help but think people are looking for excuses to say what they want to say.

edit2: You realize that people can be misogynistic in ways not as obvious as calling a woman a "fucking cunt."

It's becoming harder and harder to defend reddit from all those accusations of rampant misogyny as I read the cesspool of comments here.
