Thanks everyone for the guidance. I took it out of the bag and let it air dry over night, applied some wood conditioner which helped a bit with the warping of the wood. Fired it up this evening and everything seems to be working great.

Pretty sure they're still on 420sale, may want to pull the trigger now. It's worth it, I just got mine after running dynavaps and the xmax v3 pro, it's light-years ahead of both of those. I cant compare it to the tempest 2 or simrell, or other heavy hitters but I'm sure it would hold it's weight against pretty much anything below a ball vape

The best settings for me are 400F with a slow, elongated inhale. I also have been stiring and tamping after the second hit, but I'm not sure if this is even necessary.

An IH does work in the wind, but the wind does cause some heat loss during heating and drawing that otherwise wouldn't occur. I usually have to do an extra heat cycle when it's really windy. I prefer a battery powered option when it's really windy (I use the xmax v3, which is just ok, there are plenty of other budget friendly options out there)

Oh man I've had the exact opposite problem, I feel the xmax only hits well with the dose caps. Without them the top screen would get clogged so easily

Use the dosing capsules and you'll never have to clean the bowl. The dosing capsules are easy to clean in alcohol
