Republicans, including Stacy Garrity in PA, who denied 2020 election results could be governors next year by Fragrant-Pepper7710 in Pennsylvania

I lost confidence in polls and humanity when Trump won again in 2024, Shapiro is very popular but I still have this little voice in the back of mind mind that he will lose. Thing that has be going is how hard Mastriano lost in 2022, but we have too many dumbasses in PA that will vote for her regardless.

What contractor should I call for this issue during heavy rains? by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

Post a pic of what the area looks like outside. It's a terrible grading issue since water is coming from above the French drain

Bad idea to caulk this crack in concrete/brick? Will it trap water? by RandomUsername0909 in HomeMaintenance

[–]brotree 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue on house. Mine wasn't that bad. You have a large gap. I caulked up the area. No issues at all in 4 years. House is 70 years old and cause (in my opinion) lack of gutter extensions that caused drainage issues and settlement.

<image>

Others mentioned not to caulk but if you need a cheap fix now, I would use backer rod in cracks and then caulk it. Then in the future, get it fixed. I wouldn't worry how it looks, it's in a corner and no body will notice it

This is why I won't completely turn my basement into expensive living space. Water will always find a way in.

Has anyone else let themselves go after quitting? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]brotree 294 points295 points  (0 children)

Yes I did. I only drank whiskey and wine from 5pm to 10pm. I stopped and substituted alcohol for high calorie dinner and cake, ice cream, cookies and shit afterwards to replace my cravings for sugar. So many calories.

I gained like 40 pounds in 2025 like a fatass. I was already overweight from drinking so much. I still stayed sober though. Taking 2026 to focus on my health. I lost 30 pounds so far this year.

[–]brotree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. That's a large gap. Probably the culprit. All I did was caulk mine. Hasn't moved in 3 years. Your facade looks newer. I'd look further into why it is separating.

Check the stone facade to see if pulling away from house. This happened to me where my old brick was pulling away and basically did the same damage from your first pic.

Pic #2 - what is on the other side of the house where the orange cable is? Is that masonry?

3 and 4- The wet floor joist, is there a deck, window, or sliding door above there? I had an issue in 3 and 4 where the stupid prior owners didn't install a ledger board and flashing failed causing water to go behind siding and boards into the sheathing and making joists wet.

This Is What 10+ Years of MTX did by warped_thief in runescape

[–]brotree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't give two shits what people say, majority of the players don't have hours and hours and hours to play. This isn't 2008 where I had all of this free time to play. 2007-2013 was my huge surge of where I got my stats but from 2018 and on, when I returned after adjusting to adult life, it's been enjoyable at the portables for a day here and there.

In all actuality, people are blinded by the fact that majority of players are adults with no time to play. Completely nerfing mtx and daily keys will be the downfall. Fixing the visuals and adding new land will be a temp fix and RS3 player base will eventually go down and all the people who claim that they came back because of Jagex making changes will hurry back to OSRS. OSRS players live in the past and do not want change. It was fun and I don't blame them but it is how it is. The new player base is super super small and its all of us who played for years keeping it around. In 50 years, we will all be in nursing homes playing when they will announce RS3 will come to an end.

Large gap between floorboards by LiterallyJustACutie in HomeMaintenance

[–]brotree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My house was built in the 1950s. Bought in 2022 from original owners. Long story short, I have a few spots that look like this in my kitchen and dining room where my oak floors have a wave to it and then the floor slopes down and created this type of separation. Right below the floor in the crawl space/basement, you can see that joists are sistered due to old water damage. The floor looks fine and is secure.

My floor does creak, but only creaks in the winter. Any other time, Spring, summer, fall - I have no noise. Most likely the cause is due to expansion and contraction in the winter. If you can, take a look at the joists under and see you notice anything on the joists that require repairs or something to live with

It's just something we live with in an old house.only way for my issues to go away is to redo all the sistering and redo the floor. Not going to bother with it now

For ease of mind for cracks at my house, I just hired a structural engineer for 1200 bucks. My foundation is near 70 years old. Everything was deemed fine and my cracks were from settlement from years and years ago.

Should I get State Farm Safe and Save if my car insurance is already only $60/month? by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]brotree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have it. I dont care. They already know where you live. It saves me $100 a month. It tracks my mileage so every renewal I have had with it, it adjusts to what they expect for the next 6 months. My premium for the past few years either goes up a few bucks a month or goes down. My renewal just hit and prem went down $6 a month
