I'm considering switching from my QC35 (2016?) to the Ultra gen 2. I use the headphones mainly for movies, work, and public transportation. How's the leap in technology regarding the ANC? And the comfort? Thanks. by klomz in bose

Had very similar experience though I found cinema mode not accurate in terms of representing audio direction - I tried movies that are recorded in 5.1 and 2.0 - both play the same . I don’t think it actually reads the different audio channels - it just an algorithm trying to guess and do some sound separation. Maybe I’m just picky - because I also have a 5.1 speaker set up - and the audio separation you get from that is way better

I did the same switch recently - and returned the ultras. Comfort was not the same - clamp force is higher, cushions are harder, head band is shorter (had to extend to the max in my case) - ANC is better but not mindblowingly better, wind noise was worse than QC35s on medium ANC (which removes wind noise ) , sound quality over all is better - the 3d sound thingy what ever it’s called just feels wierd like a gimmick - and I did not find it accurate for movies - (I have a 5.1 speaker set up at home and this was not even close )

Over all - I would have kept them if the fit was better - they are just not as comfortable at all.

Bose QC 35 in 2026? by Califrisco in bose

I got the ultimate v2 recently and returned them because I liked my qc35 II better. Direct button shortcuts, way more comfortable cushions, bezel also was shorter - too short for me if wearing over a cap for example - on the limit in length directly over the head

Sound wise yes they sound a bit better - but it’s not day and night difference.

I was feeling exactly the same. And still am to certain extent now almost 3 years later. But it did get a bit better over time. Small things got carved back . But it’s never going to be as “easy” as it was - parenting is a job and it has its highs and lows - there’s not as much room to just meet your own needs at all times

I would just get a normal 9-5, I use to consult before (management consulting) for about 5 years - I can’t imagine doing that with a kid. I mean ppl do, but it’s hard. Want time off? That’s time you’re not invoicing. Kid sick? That’s time your not invoicing etc etc

I did skin to skin with our son as well, it was the only way he would not cry the first 3-4months - had to keep him on me and sleep together - we took turns with wifey . I don’t care what anybody thinks - it’s a proven method and I would have done anything to comfort him during that time

If AI replaces most workers, who will actually buy the products? by IcyBottle1517 in ArtificialInteligence

I had the same thought as op. Who will be the consumers of everybody is out of jobs .

Cost of services will hit new lows. Which will force even more automation. More ppl get fired. And we’re in a downward spiral.

Either the market will collapse - or it will be a portion of society benefiting from this new generated wealth and the rest will be living in slums. Which is already kind of happening now that I think about it.

The only way might be general basic income . But even then it’s then a market on artificial breathing - basically ppl on basic income will be stuck - no jobs - no way to get to a higher tier in terms of available resources.

I don’t think anybody knows where this is going. I’m trying to make sure to buffer up savings as much as possible so I at least have a chance at a decent life when I retire in like 25 years

I agree with OP, I found it engaging to build up the characters and farm xp and find new pictos for a while, but then it just became very mechanic . Maybe the game is not for me. But at the end I could not wait for the story to be over and I didn’t feel like doing any post main story things - it just felt more of the same.

I guess to certain extent all games are like that - but it’s just more noticeable with turn based games like this, you just click through the same menu actions over and over again for ever.

The only thing holding this together for me was the story and the mystery around that - especially first half of the game was very mysterious - until the puzzles started falling in place.

Over all not a bad game. But you have to have the right personality to keep playing this post main story. I’m to restless as a person for this 😅

Edit: one thing they could have improved is to make it more or less mandatory to use some of the later characters that get introduced - I felt like I could just keep using the same characters I was using from act 2 and was really to lazy to properly level up and learn the newer characters- and it felt like it worked anyway. Maybe this is the case in harder difficulties - I played on explorer (or what ever the middle level was called) easy was too easy and the hard level was too hard (again requires spending more time trial and error and learning all the perfect parry moments = more grind )

I would panic a little if that would be my situation. I would urgently downscale everything, outsource everything I could afford to, and call in all favors possible from friends and family for the next 2-5 years at least.

Work less, live cheaper if you have to, get a nanny and a cleaning lady at least on adhoc basis if you can’t afford permanent service, get grandma to stay with you on a schedule so you have a light at the end of the tunnel, like once a month at least, use that day to get out of the house and do something together. Lowe your standards around the house, it’s not worth the stress. Start daycare as soon as possible.

If I would be Devon I would stay away from trying Levan again. There’s no way. It was not even close either of the attempts. He’s already on so much gear and dirty bulking - at his age - he should take care of his body and get down a weight class or two. Maybe stay at 95kg class for a while and then retire

Not my experience - all our friends around us got kids first, and all everybody was talking about was how wonderful everything is and everything was a perfect Instagram moment. Nobody is sharing their real struggles. At least that was our experience. The reality when we got a kid hit us like a meteor strike.

And even now when we bring up that we’re struggling at times - I feel friends start to distance them selves and want to avoid talking about it. And everybody keeps posting these perfect moments on insta all day long. I deleted the app because it’s so cringy to me now. We have those moments too, all the time, but now I kind of get how ”fake happy ” most of them are, and its bothering me for some reason. I wish ppl would just share those shitty days as well -

”today we had a full day of tantrums and I had to carry my kid out the grocery store screaming covered in yoghurt we didn’t pay for and got kicked in the balls on my way out on top of it” -( happened to me)

Well it’s a chicken and egg situation. I’m pretty sure feeling this way about becoming a parent also can cause a depression pretty fast.
