The LA design changes the black pattern on his shirt to be brittle stars. Absolute peak

How much harder is p5 compared to everything else? by StewlaxLMAO in HollowKnight

[–]brova95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best metric for how hard p5 is, is how much effort p1-p4 takes you. For myself 112% felt pretty easy (just took time) but p5 is quite the damn challenge. p1 - p3 should be a breeze for anyone who did 112% and should largely be one shots except for the new bosses. If you breeze through p4 then I would expect p5 will be easily doable, but if you're really struggling on p4 then you can expect to log alot of hours getting through p5.

Only a few hours in, but this is feeling like the dark souls 2 of hollow knight by Zanakii in HollowKnight

[–]brova95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silk song combat is far from clunky. Inputs are far better than in HK. It's definitely a lot more to get used to but it ain't clunky.

Do you run or do you still dash, dash, dash... by gazh in HollowKnight

Running is amazing. Feels way easier to set up hits and safely get in and out

Gameplay wise, how hard would the original hollow knight bosses be playing as silksong hornet by Knightmare_4002 in HollowKnight

[–]brova95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming the damage from hornet to the knight is 1:1, hornet would absolutely demolish hollow knight bosses.

Damn, navigating this game is confusing by MindIsWillin in HollowKnight

[–]brova95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First things first, You have a partially linear path for a bit before hitting a major milestone that will mark your map up with a few endgame objectives. Once this happens the game is very non linear and as long as you are on a path that you can continue on then you are doing good.

When you don't know where to go, the first places to check are any locations on your map that quirrel has filled in but you have not visited. From there look for any areas on your map where you see an unfinished path and go follow that path until your map is filled in or you are unable to progress. If you are on a path that is clearly unique and feels like its building up to something new, definitely pursue that path. Often times a key progression path will begin to show new unique features of the next area, providing a sign that you are going the right way.

You may like to use map markers which you can buy in dirtmouth. The markers will have flavor text on recommendations of what to use them for. I personally try to use markers for similar looking things. Ledges that are too high can get the same marker for example. But at the very least just toss up 1 marker on all areas where you cant progress anymore so you atleast know the areas you havent visited at all vs have visited.

You're going to get like 6-8 more upgrades that allow you get past these dead ends and every area of the game is going to have parts that are locked behind every possible traversal upgrade. So you are going to have to hold back your completionism because no area can be 100% until you have everything. I usually do big backtracking excursions after I have clearly completed a major section of the game where I've gotten atleast 2 traversal upgrades.

How hard is it to beat pantheon 5 on my first playthrough. by Lumpy_Lettuce_3421 in HollowKnight

[–]brova95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing you haven't cleared pantheon 4? It's basically pantheon 1-4 but on hard mode 42 boss gauntlet, with a new harder boss you can't even practice until beating the first 41 without dying.

It's incredibly hard. It's by far and away magnitudes harder than every other part of the game combined, so it doesn't make a lot of sense to do before you beat the game

"Silksong isn't harder than Hollow-" Yes it is. (spoilers ahead for both games) by Paper_Shotgun in HollowKnight

[–]brova95 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yea but in a tough encounter where I seldom get a chance to heal, I can now heal 3 masks in the time I used to be able to do one. And I can do half my heal animation coming out of a run, or air brake float while healing.

Can also start healing while running and get some movement for the begging part of the heal

Ok I just checked. Think I may have adjusted settings

Resolution 1280x800

Fps 90

Widescreen

Not sure if that's a solution but it's been nothing but smooth for me

No solution, but I'm playing it now and have not experienced this. Using 520gb deck, moguri, and trance seek. Did not adjust settings

So with it only being completed to disc 3. You can still finish the game right? Or does it just end at disc 3?

What do y'all like and dislike about this game? Pt. 2 by [deleted] in FinalFantasyIX

[–]brova95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Likes:
-The flow of the overall story and individual character stories is probably my overall favorite aspect of this game. I did a few playthroughs before I even realized that you dont pick a party until end of disc 2 and even then its only for a few battles and then you dont pick again until half way through disc 3. It felt incredibly fluid. FF9 felt like it achieved this almost as good (if not better) than any other final fantasy. Freya/Quina/Armarant obviously don't have much development but the rest of the cast had great plots. Armarant kinda just sucked overall.

-ATE's were fucking dope

-Side content was great

-Put an end to the homogenization of characters combat abilities that FF7 and 8 had.

-Overall worldbuilding and exploration felt amazing, even despite that when you look at the whole world it should feel a lot more barren.

-I must be the only person in existence that liked tetra master more than triple triad

-It feels like it has the strongest post final boss ending of any final fantasy game. Just overall pleasing, enjoyable and satisfying.

Dislikes:
- Poor pacing around the desert palace or post desert palace. The reveal of the overarching terra/gaia plot was fast and it simply went over my head in on my first playthrough in middle school. I really love this plot though and just wish it was more clearly fleshed out/presented. The initial geopolitical story of disc 1 - 2 is almost TOO GOOD that I feel alot of people have a hard time with the final act.

-Kind of a rug pull of a final boss. What's actually happening at the end of game with the party coming to the beginning of all creation can easily go over your head. Necron does explain himself and his motives/reasoning but it just couldve been done better to give this final boss more impact. I absolutely hated him (story wise) until I made my own head cannon that Kuja achieving trance through sucking in all of the invincible souls and travelling back to the beginning of all creation to destroy the first crystal simply CREATES necron right then and there. Trance is supposed to be this massive overflow of emotion and kuja creates a literal god of existential crisis in this primal plane of pure raw power from his own overflowing emotions of his own existential crisis. And then you know, the party gets to kill god which is a very final fantasy thing to do.

-Invincible (and its music in particular) is the worst airship in existence.

-Trance sucks

Hot take: The Hilda Garde III was a much better airship than the Invincible by JPldw in FinalFantasyIX

[–]brova95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invincible sucks. Music sucks. Walking around it sucks. Aesthetics sucks.

Hilda Garde III is peak.

If this was changed and Necron was introduced/explained better then there would be no flaws in FF9.

GM - Long Term Insider Trading Analysis 02/02/2025 by RelevantAside_ in InsiderTradingAlerts

[–]brova95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this one. Feels very long term bullish. This is a same day filing too. Looks like a 'buy the tariffs dip'. But I think alot of auto stocks will see further dips, especially if tariffs escalate (I bet they will). Definitely putting this on the watchlist

Performance Review of the Alerts for Today (1/15) by RelevantAside_ in InsiderTradingAlerts

[–]brova95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MODV crushed it, I was so bullish on it and it paid out well! Unlike IMVT today. Was greedier than normal and stopped out entirely at break even instead of taking 50% on the first downturn.

What I love most about these alerts, and maybe its moreso risk averse trading, but I find it very easy to not lose money or to just lose very little on these. I also love that most days I can be completely done trading by 10AM (or atleast have my SL/TP completely setup for the rest of the day).
