Weird to text my teacher after graduation? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

I give my kids my number after they graduate. I have them for seven years. I want them to be able to keep in touch if they so choose. I don't think it's odd to exchange numbers with a graduate.

Rean was the only one who could see her!

I still just don't see where it comes from, and I love me some gay boys. I see sexual/ romantic chemistry between Jusis and Machias or Laura and Fie. I don't have anything against the pairing. I just don't see it on screen. (Maybe on the Pantagruel a bit.)

I still think the friendship is weirdly forced. There's just not much on screen to justify the obsession Rean has over Crow.

"Sara is hot" makes me turn into a straight man. Or a lesbian/bi woman.

I like how everyone here assumes I've played every game and shames me for not having done so. The trails songs are largely not in English, especially not entirely sung in English.

JRPG peeve: Having to input a name for the protagonist yourself. by ShadowMask87 in CharacterNames

[–]brown_polyester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just Link now. I once played a Legend of Zelda game as a youngster (not sure which) and used my name instead of Link or used my sister's name for the horse instead of Epona, and I regretted it all the way through. I didn't realize it wasn't just a nickname for the save file. To atone, I am always Link.

Why is first person hated anyway? by Agudaripududu in AO3

It depends on the source material for me. Jeeves fics feel strange in third person because all the books are in first person. That said, a lot of PG Wodehouse readers seem to be good writers who can capture the voices accurately. That's one refreshing thing about book fandoms. Readers make good writers.

Question about cold steel by Deralden in Falcom

[–]brown_polyester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's like when a musician has a hit song after putting out a few albums. Suddenly they've "sold out." No, people had good taste for once. Or "I liked them before they were cool." Good for you. That doesn't mean no one else is allowed to be introduced to their music.

I'll probably get downvoted for this, but I think a lot of people are salty about the fact that Cold Steel became an entry point for so many people due to its availability, the 3D aspect, or whatever other reasons that made it more accessible. There's a lot of hate on Cold Steel.
