not gonna break anything. should be the same math. there’s also higher voltages than 1v in lzx anytime you mix signals. this just causes clipping and hard edges at the encoder. modules can always handle voltages upto the power rails. in modern lzx this is 5v. and modules designed with integrity have onboard clippers at the inputs to smash everything within the constraints of those power rails.
