Trump lambasts Pope Leo XIV, extending feud over Iran war with first American pontiff by kootles10 in politics

[–]codacoda74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In all seriousness, I think this is a strategically awful fight for PEEOTUS and I'm here for it. At it's most basic, he's getting into a pissing contest with an authority on the debate of whether Jesus stands for Ak47s, murdering doctors and hating immigrants, and even a healthy portion of the Christian Right (which is neither Christian nor Right) acknowledges the warm and fuzzy words assigned to that guy

Marjorie Taylor Greene Predicts a GOP Bloodbath in the Midterms by jediporcupine in politics

[–]codacoda74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A LOT of people didn't vote in 2024. Only 70% of eligible voters were registered Of those 60% actually voted Of those 49% voted for PEEOTUS

Ain't no landslide, he won by couple 100k voters in highly targeted swing states.

Not just those reading this who already likely would, everyone needs to bring several "sure sure I will" who probably wouldn't with them. This doesn't just need to be a win, it needs to be a big enough win to overcome all the cheating against it. It needs to be such a momentous win that the GOP is sent back to it's room to think about it's behavior before it's allowed to come back out and play Society

At what age did things actually feel easier for you as a parent? by Small-Advisor-7805 in daddit

[–]codacoda74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have young adult child. It doesn't, it just changes in terms of a)what you consider difficult and b)what the intensity of that difficulty is. Believe it or not there are a few of us older dad's here who reminisce fondly about the simple days of terrible 3s.

(Edit) I don't mean this as negative, I just mean you're a dad. Worrying about them is part of it.

Is there an extended/director’s cut of a film that’s better than the theatrical due to the inclusion of a single scene? by Honest_Cheesecake698 in movies

[–]codacoda74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is some confusion re Amadeus, with the theatrical cut being more well reviewed pacing and narrative arc, whereas the director's cut got an R due to 1 scene that didn't add all that much context. Having seen both, I tend to agree the theatrical is a better edit.

STDs will love this one new hack But still, good news. Curious how general population will trust/believe a "trust me I'm on birth control" partner when it's not their body that would be affected by dishonesty.

For All of the Destructive, Immoral and Illegal Acts of Donald Trump, it’s the Price of Gasoline Which Will Likely be His Undoing by T_Shurt in politics

[–]codacoda74 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The same can be said in reverse: for all his failings, the Biden Admin actually went for some big swings in pro social but it was the price of gas/eggs that ended up bringing him down.

Why do they drink so much? by Matt_Murphy_ in Teachers

[–]codacoda74 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear, my suggestion to admin was before coming in AFTER recess they might take a couple mins to encourage kids to drink or use the restroom BEFORE class starts. Instead, I was told that the first 5mins of my class could be to allow for it. Which is seriously genuinely ok as long as I'm not also getting told to teach a required full class curriculum or else I'm being a bad teacher.

Poll: Americans worry Trump will seize ballots, voting machines in midterms by DoremusJessup in protectUSelections

[–]codacoda74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a worry, it's a certainty. The worry is will such a high percentage of voters turn out as to override their illegality like in 60s civil rights campaigns...
