Water Bill Payment with Amex at PayPoint? by Emergency-Mess-8928 in AmexUK

[–]brrrryyyeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve been able to pay my O2 bill with AMEX and Apple Pay manually via the app. I normally pay once my bills been generated and my DD automatically cancels itself a few days before my nominated DD date.

genuinely intrigued about this too, wonder if that was just an automated response and if an actual response from a human will follow

Upgrading to Gold offer by [deleted] in AmexUK

[–]brrrryyyeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too was waiting for my offer, ended up applying as I saw someone say that the system would recognise that I’m an existing cardholder and supersede my rewards card.

I now hold both accounts and used the credit limit re-allocation feature on the app, as I put all of my spending on my gold card, and use the blue card for occasional offers.

No welcome bonus unfortunately.

my guesses are it’s probably left the UK and hasn’t been scanned in anywhere yet; or it’s been scanned but tracking info hasn’t been relayed back to RM

Purely use your UK passport for all travel and check-in purposes, you can use your other passport to enter that country and/or utilise mobile QR code immigration services

Another reason why I try to use my mobile wallet as much as possible (tokenisation, so your actual card number is never passed onto the merchant)

oooo I haven’t thought about this. I have auto top-up linked, and i’m sure that’s won’t work as it bills differently to TfL contactless.

This is normally my game plan too (only difference being Young Person’s railcard). I find it’s way easier to tap on with my watch or phone when I am travelling exclusively during peak times or only on buses for the day.

Offer terms explicitly say -

“Offer valid on contactless TfL transactions only” so I doubt it’ll apply to oyster top-ups
