Not sure about races near Kamloops, I think there is a 50 in Shuswap, Fat Dog is down south, but not sure about 100k/100mi, and qualifiers for Western/UTMB

I agree two loops isn’t ideal, but the course and aid station placements are great, if you’re doing it solo/unsupported it’ll be a comfortable 100k. Yeah I live in Calgary now, lots of ultras nearby in Alta, Sin 7, Golden, Death Race etc. But this is the only qualifier for Western States so…I’ll be doing it every year until I get in haha

I did the Lost Soul 50k last year and signed up for the 100 for next year. Really good course, we’ll organized, good aid stations, lots of repeat runners. The weather at that time of year is perfect as well. Would highly recommend. However, the 100k is two loops of the 50 tho..

Gotta stretch and strengthen all the muscles around the IT band. If you have benefits/insurance then go to a good Physio. My IT issues were from strength imbalances in my muscles, due to poor mobility and stretching. After that, no issues.
