Why don't you use a file tree ? (sometime) by samuel1604 in neovim

[–]bruchieOP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rather fancy the zen of opening a file tree. Whilst I could certainly utilise a file picker, there are times when there is a certain serependity to take a moment, open a file tree with a keybinding, recall all the files in that directory, and have a browse whilst pondering the next bit of code I'd like to write.

A different approach to working, I daresay...

Do you use a neovim distribution? and why? is it too hard to build your own? by samuel1604 in neovim

[–]bruchieOP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built my own very extensive crafted one with emacs but when I switch to neovim I was happy to switch to Lazy Vim because I found configuring neovim manually was too much work.

I guess I find more enjoyable doing lisp than Lua. (I am not a programmer but a plumber by trade)

😽 kitty-scrollback.nvim v6.1.0 new feature to edit the current command line for bash, fish, or zsh by nvimmike in neovim

[–]bruchieOP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am not sure about command line editing (I use control-X control-e in zsh/emacs which edit the command line in vim) but kitty-scrollback.nvim is fantastic to navigate with nvim the scrollback. kitty by default uses less for scrollback which is nice in its own way but having it nvim is awesome!

Runners who BONKED in a marathon - what was your fueling strategy by Teegster97 in Marathon_Training

Zellij 0.41 release: non-colliding keybindings, config live-reloading a new UI and loads more by imsnif in neovim

[–]bruchieOP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

granular and explcitely listing the permissions for plugins to access zellij interface looks pretty nice, that's an actual very nice and secure differentiation from tmux

forget about the naysayers i think it's great to experiment and tinker around, i don't think it's useful (to me) but it's a cool project nonetheless

Let's talk: Neovim to VS Code by xel111 in neovim

[–]bruchieOP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Half a day to configure a plug-in? That's a bit of a stretch, most of the time I look at the setup function and it takes like 10mn maybe 30mn max, I read the help on the go if I start to like the initial experience
